Excess inflammation is always present in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (the suffix "itis" denotes inflammation in the thyroid gland), and intestinal permeability has been found as a common factor in every case of autoimmunity.
Curcumin (Tumeric) can be helpful in reducing whole body inflammation and healing the gut.
Studies of the effect of curcumin, the active ingredient of turmeric on the thyroid gland and autoimmunity have showed encouraging results.
1) Research shows that curcumin can help to protect the intestinal barrier from invasion by bacterial infection and can help heal a leaky gut.
2) According to a 2014 study in the journal Food Chemistry and Toxicology; "Curcumin reduces the hepatotoxicity induced by arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead and mercury, prevents histological injury, lipid peroxidation and glutathione (GSH) depletion, maintains the liver antioxidant enzyme status and protects against mitochondrial dysfunction." 3) Curcumin showed tumor inhibiting activity in thyroid cancer.
4) Curcumin was protective against the genetic damage and side effects induced by radioactive iodine that is sometimes used to treat Graves’ disease
5) Curcumin has anti-inflammatory benefits that can be helpful in down-regulating autoimmune conditions. Specifically, curcumin produces an anti-inflammatory effect by down-regulating Th-1 cytokines (TNF-A, IL-1, 2, 6, 8, 12), which may be overactive in Hashimoto’s. Curcumin has been found to reduce joint inflammation in the Th-1 autoimmune condition rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, it seems to have therapeutic anti-inflammatory effects in a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, showing improvement in Crohn’s disease (Th-1), Ulcerative colitis (Th-2) and irritable bowel syndrome.
While most people with Hashimoto's will benefit from the addition of curcumin, I would say that if you are currently experiencing ANY pain, you will see the most benefit.
The issue with tumeric or curcumin is that it's hard to absorb to obtain the benefits. Not all turmeric is the same!...you need a high quality bio available brand with black pepper extract.

Have you ever had one of them? I honestly had never heard of them until my oldest had one at age 4. Back then, there wasn’t much I could do to help it go away, but now that dōTERRA is in my home, we have options when and if it happens again.
•Topically dab Melaleuca & Lavender around the eye socket
•OR add a drop of each to your hands, rub them together and cup over your eyes, nose and mouth for 1-2 minutes. Your breath will carry the oils to the eyes.
•Get a hard shell eye patch (pharmacy) and a cotton ball. Dab a little Melaleuca and Lavender on one side of the cotton ball. Place cotton ball under the patch, with oil side facing away from the eye and place over the eye as long as child will allow. No more than 5-10 minutes. Also, apply diluted over reflex points.
Do the appropriate protocol 2-3 times daily until the sty becomes unnoticeable.
Do you know someone who could use this protocol? Tag them in the comments below.
Don’t want to pay retail for these oils? Message me about how to get a dōTERRA membership and pay 25% below retail without having monthly orders or the hassle of selling.
So I’m still working with the feelings kit. I think it’s helping me. I had some super dark days at first where I just didn’t want to continue because it was helping bring things to the surface. I’m the kind of person that prefers to swallow and bury things. Yes I know that is not a good thing and I’m a work in progress!
Things have been calm this week and I really feel a sense of lightness. Every day and in every way I am working on being better and better.

alright y’all. today is a big fucking day because this girl is allowed to lift HEAVYYYYYY 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
i’m finally starting to wean off all treatment since the accident 👏🏼 so my chiro is letting me have a go at some heavier weights while i’m still under her care 🙃 (basically so she can fix me if i totally wreck myself at the gym rn 😇)
i’m really not looking forward to seeing how little weight is “heavy” for me now tho 👀 *rip to all my muscle mass* 😫
plus my neck and back muscles are all confused and don’t fire correctly anymore 😑 so i’ll be spending the foreseeable future retraining my muscle memory and reteaching my muscles how to activate properly.
basically i’m a newbie lifter again 🤷🏻♀️
it’s about to be a fun time y’all 🤓👍🏼 my youtube is officially going live on july 5th! 🙆🏻♀️ join me there to see how my rebuilding efforts are going 💪🏼 and to see how awkward i am on camera! 😳

I truly believe in the mind-body-soul connection & for true healing and for becoming whole & balanced, we need to work on all levels. You can start healing your body with whole foods and a diet change, but you most likely need to realign the mind, body, spirit energetically and spiritually as well. That's why I started to incorporate chakra healing into my own healing and into my coaching as well.
The chakras are basically energy wheels along the body, connected with and correspond to organs, hormones, and are influenced by emotions, thoughts and what's happening in our life also has an impact on them.☯️
The main 7 chakras are the root chakra, sacral chakra, solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, third eye chakra, crown chakra. If they are spinning to quickly or moving slowly and gets blocked, our health will suffer.⚕️
@thechopracenter gives a great example of this:
"Take, for example, a wife, who has recently lost her husband. She develops acute bronchitis, which remains in the chest, and then gets chest pains each time she coughs. The heart chakra is affected in this case. If she realizes the connection between the loss and bronchitis, healing will occur much faster if she honors the grieving process and treats that as well as the physical ailment."
When I started to dig deeper into the metaphysical root of my thyroid nodule, I found a very profound connection with the blockage and weakness of the throat chakra area.
The throat chakra is connected to the thyroid glands, jaw, mouth, ears, also it is the chakra of self-expression, communication, and creativity.
If you are having communication issues, if you don't dare to say what you truly think, if you don't dare to stand up for yourself, if you keep your real opinion to yourself and always wanting to meet other's expectations sacrificing your own needs all the time, if you don't express your creativity might lead to physical ailments in the organs associated with the throat area.
In order to heal, besides working on the issues just mentioned above, you can do the following activities:
-Express your creativity
-Write a journal and express your feelings without censoring 📷: @juliawatkins 🙏

Does fat make you fat?
Eating foods that have fat content is not directly related to fattening. What fattens is the excess calories ingested in relation to calories burned, which in turn is linked to the lifestyle (physical activity performed). Of all foods, sugars and starches (carbohydrates) are the most fattening, as they alter the
metabolism and appetite.
Those products available in the market that say they have less fat matter often have more glucose content in the form of flour and thickens, which cause elevations of sugar and insulin in the blood and immediately after attacks of brutal appetite. Reduce in its nutrition the part of glucose in favor of proteins and fats will allow you to store less body fat and decrease the feeling of hunger.
The balanced consumption of fats favors our health and quality of life so it leaves the remorse and incorporates in a balanced and conscious way fat content to your life.

how autoimmune disease made me a better #yogi
today, my first #blog post was published on @elephantjournal (link in bio) and honestly, my fingers are still shaking as i type this.
i’ve lived with #autoimmunedisease for the last 14 years, and have spent the majority of my adulthood learning to resent my illness and hide my suffering.
yet to #liveingratitude means understanding that everything—no matter how shitty, painful, or debilitating—is happening *for* us, rather than *to* us.
taking this to heart, a couple weeks ago i started to adopt a #108versesofgratitude practice into my #dailymeditation, in which i try to meditate on all the ways i’m grateful for my illness. admittedly, this list is still pretty short, and i may never make it to 108. nonetheless, it’s a poignant list—click the link in my bio to read a few of these reasons.
so here goes me #breakingthesilence on my chronic disease and learning to accept it as a #blessing. please read, share, let me know your thoughts. 💛
TESTIMONIAL: A beautiful heart felt feedback worth sharing.
I love observing how most of my clients find me when their are ready to change their lives for once and for all.
It doesn’t feel like work when you find a balance between:. * Contemporary therapies / ancient wisdom
* Emotional / metaphysical/ physiological / physical healing
* Microcosm / macrocosm
* Empowered clients / my commitment & love for healing and humanity.

I have very sad news that has our family in complete heartbreak this evening. ...our Gypsy Valentine passed. We had a great day and our family went out to dinner for Father's day only to find her gone when we got home. She was in our napping spot and looks to have died in her sleep. She was SO beyond loved every second in our home and it feels really empty without her. 💔

I've been seeing an abundant amount of wild animals in the last few days. I have seen a beautiful bear cub, 6 bunnies, and 2 deer. I also had 5 cats run across the road driving home tonight right in front of me. Not sure what the animal world is trying to tell me but whatever it is, you all have my attention now. Proceed with your message.

Every choice is a step on the path that can lead you to where you want to go. You can change direction at any time. You can stop and pause, but I encourage you that whatever you do....to enjoy it. Walk if you want to walk. Sprint if you are moved to do so, but move with purpose and intention. You got this, tribe!

1.. 2.. 3.. der Montag ist vorbei 👐🏼.
So, fällt euch was auf?
Quasi before + after edit. Sehr ihr mal wie ich das mache.
Achja, für fellow alle Giiiirlz mit ähnlichem Problem: Only hat sie. DIE Jeans. Keine Werbung, sondern meine Mission. Eine Jeans für jeden Booty.
So, ab morgen dann wieder tiefgründiger. Der Trainingsentzug tut mir nicht gut 🤡. Ich hoffe dennoch euer Montag war ähnlich erfolgreich 😎.

Homemade plantain chips!
The best healthy snack when you’re craving something crunchy and salty🙌🏻 I buy light green plantains- this way they are firm and easy to peel/slice. All you have to do is slice your plantain into very thin slices and toss in a bowl with avocado oil. Then, lay them on a baking tray flat, sprinkle with sea salt and bake for 15 minutes at 375F or until golden brown, flipping half way through. Perfect for dips like guacamole or hummus👌🏻

Happy Monday, fam!! ✨ I’ve been getting more and more disciplined with my whole foods, mostly alkaline diet to the point where salads now excite me haha.
I’m not even mad because it feels awesome, but I’m glad I’ve been hitting my health goals with the help of planning ahead and being sick of feeling sick. My number one motivator for eating this way is that I know how I’ll feel after eating something not health-promoting. If it doesn’t make me feel good, it’s not going in my body🙅🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️
