The resting spot. How many of you have sat on this bench before? 🙌
I know it’s somewhat last minute, but @nynjtc is holding their annual gala Thursday evening, where we will be “celebrating 95 years of the Appalachian Trail’s origins at Bear Mountain.” If interested, you can get a ticket through nynjtc.com
On another note, it’s a shame to say I often find litter around here, even though there are garbage cans not far from this spot. Anyone who leaves trash in nature is trash. Don’t be “that guy.” If it takes time and effort to throw your stuff away, take that time and effort, and pretty please with a cherry on top, don’t be a lazy-ass litterbug. #leavenotrace#appalachiantrail
There stood Mount Hood in all the glory of the alpenglow, looming immensely high, beaming with intelligence, and so impressive that one was overawed as if suddenly brought before some superior being newly arrived from the sky...The whole mountain appeared as one glorious manifestation of divine power, enthusiastic and benevolent, glowing like a countenance with ineffable repose and beauty, before which we could only gaze in devout and lowly admiration. John Muir
Magical evenings spent on the beach. Few seem to be convinced off its charm after the passing of the heat, but it has left a lasting impression with me. These golden reflections and the merging of the water and the sky are worth catching in my opinion. Wildlife is drawn to the sand during the evening as well, and moose roam the forest nearby. Owls hoot from tall trees in the distance, and somewhere across the lake there is a disturbance of the silence. Untouched and untamed wilderness.
Si tudi vi ob dosegu enega vrha zgolj ogledujete sosednje in načrtujete naslednje pohode?
