Beach combing days are nearing an end onto snow trails and mountains 🏔

The biggest advantage to hiking in the rain is that the trails are relatively empty. It's not often that there's nobody at the top of this mellow hike ••• #ThirstyExplorer ••• 🍺: @btpbrewing 'Yummy' NE IPA
Thanks to @ottawabeer for this tasty beverage
As nice as it is to have a break from the 9-5 work life, being away from the valley for school has really made me realize how much I love it there, the people, the church, everything. And this picture doesn’t even do its beauty justice.
I recently read some words that hit home for me: “when your sense of direction is deeply internalized, you never have to worry about becoming lost.”
They were simple, but powerful and at a time in my life where there seems to be a million different choices in front of me, they resonated more than ever. They cut through the noise and make the choices simple. I think so many of us could help ourselves our by fostering our inner compass. By spending a little bit more time getting in touch with and understanding the things that way deep inside are actually guiding us. The things that at the end of it actually matter to us. When you tap into those, decisions become easy.
Because at the end of the day, if you’ve lived a life that wasn’t really yours, did you really live your life? It’s at least worth a thought.
Ps. Huge love to @smartsweetsfounder 🍭 for sharing the words with me in the midst of a tough week. She’s a badass entrepreneur on a pretty amazing mission to change the candy industry for the (way) better. Go check out what she’s doing at @eatsmartsweets. Ps. They are delicious. Pps. #notsponsored 👌🏻 #justlove
“And then I realized that to be more alive,
I had to be less afraid.
So I did it.
I lost my fear, and gained my whole life”
Journey to 100// Stawamus Chief - Squamish, BC
As most of us understand, fear is powerful. Fear of judgement, fear of what could go wrong, fear of failing, succeeding, falling or rising.. it controls the quality of a life in so many aspects. I can say this, because I have, and do, let it control my actions on many accounts. A healthy dose of fear keeps our species alive. I am not saying all fear should be eliminated, because we need it to survive. But when we break free of doubts, of those fears that keep us from living the life we dreamt about when we were fearless kids, we really start to notice the vast greatness we could be experiencing through the course of this life. What is it that stops us from living every dream we had as children? I obviously don’t have the answer for everyone, but I can guess fear plays a big part in the “why” of that question
Do you remember what the answer would have been, if you asked your 5 y/o self what kind of amazing things you were going to do with your life when you were “all grown up?” (When does that all grown up thing even happen?🤔) .. don’t let fear lie in the way of those big dreams you had when you were 5. It is said; do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain🔥 #journeyto100
