We drove up to Clearwater last weekend specifically to check out Helmcken Falls. We arrived to see it was completely fogged in, so we waited, and waited and threw snowballs, and waited some more, and then eventually the fog lifted for about 43 seconds and gave us this spectacular view, and then closed itself off again. Probably the second best 43 seconds of my life.

It’s been challenging to keep taking the people we love to the airport and to say “see you later” (even though we are so grateful for the time we’ve had with them). There have been countless moments where I’ve felt like the rug has been pulled out from under my feet as I’ve been navigating new terrain in life the last few months. Having a newborn has some challenges, but missing my mom and the people I love at home has been the biggest challenge (WHO IS THE BABY NOW? 🙋🏼♀️). After spending a quick 24+ hrs with @carolinegleich she helped me remember that “I’ve got this”. True friends bring out our inner strength. This morning I woke up happy next to the people I love, and told myself “I’ve got this”. Hope you are enjoying your weekend with your friends, family, or the animals and people you love this weekend! ❤️"

It was a beautiful day climbing up to Wedgemount lake and then the extra slog to Wedgemount glacier was worth it. It was a busy weekend day and the majority of hikers had to turn back because they didn't have adequate footwear for the icy climb up the final ramp to the lake..for those that made it to the lake, none made the extra trip across to the glacier as the only set of footprints in the snow were mine. I waited for the light of sunset. It was the most beautiful sight. It's a shame that no one else could share the moment but many would have with just a bit extra preparation. Trail crampons only cost $80. These views: priceless! Always take the 10 essentials and two lights in the BC wilderness"
