I absolutely love this.
It is a sculpture by @hera_herakut that I spent quite some time admiring @monikerartfair last week.
Whenever I go to art fairs or galleries, I tend to be quite quick in my assessment of whether or not I want to stop.
This piece stopped me in my tracks for quite some time.
It is hard to do justice to the incredible characteristics and personality that has been captured in the sculpture but I have included a few shots to try to give you a better feel of her.
It’s the glasses, the cardigan, the brush, the hair ... I assumed she was bronze but no - amazingly, the piece has been made from various items that the artist found around the home - her feet are made from a selection of old world coins for example.
I couldn’t find a name but I had Agnes in my mind as soon as I saw her.
So, meet Agnes. .
✨Urban Nation Gallery ✨”My childhood was lonesome and the only true friend I had was the monkey on my back.” 🐒 This was my favorite piece from yesterdays exploration. Highly recommend this gallery. Best part is... it’s in my neighborhood! Schöneberg, Berlin 🤩
