Just returning to Atlanta from a trip to California to re-visit the beautiful meditation center where I volunteered last year; and this time I worked really hard as a meditation student! 🧘🏼♂️♻️
This place: California Vipassana Center is so incredible, the natural beauty and the energy are breathtaking. .
Vipassana is a type of meditation and actually the method that Gautama the Buddha taught during his lifetime 2500 years ago. It is a completely secular technique that he developed to become a fully enlightened being. It’s scientific in it’s practice and people from all over the world attend these centers on DONATION to work hard to better themselves through practice of the technique. This is the third time I’ve attended a 10 day course in 2 years time and they are truly a special experience in Life. .
LISTEN You guys! I will continue to share how impactful daily meditation has become in my life. I am a happier and lighter person, developed in compassion and understanding of others. BECAUSE I understand my self better. All side effects of meditation practice. .
Thought: What if the majority of things society did had positive side effects instead of negative ones? What a wonderful world it would be. I believe we are on our way. If you start practicing, or even researching it, or asking me.. We are all better for it. .

Self care day 5 / 6 !! Crazy busy morning (Fall market, you’re still hot) and I know later I’ll be heading home to 2 crazy kids and one equally busy husband, so Wednesday’s I make sure to carve out 30 mins of extra sanity time. Guided meditation is a great way to get out of my own thoughts, slow down, and recharge. Takes effort to get there and honestly, even after I parked a voice in my head tried to convince me I had “too much to do” and was wasting time. Naughty voice! It was 30 minutes of quiet and contemplation and let me tell you, I am so much better able to serve my clients and family when I’m not operating from a baseline of stress!! ✨✨✨ #heavilymeditated#clt#cltrealtor

There are people in my life I can say this to with 100% confidence. For them, I’m so grateful. Trustworthy friends...game changer. Not trustworthy? Bye 👋🏻 Still working on looking up ⬆️ and saying this phrase with the same confidence... even though I have every reason to shout it into the heavens. But it’s my mantra for the next period of my life. “I trust you, Divine...” or at least “I really want to trust you and I’m trying!” Purifying practices tonight 630pm @yoga108studio ...
At least four years ago, I wrote a quote from the incredible @themotherspirit (follow her for literally everything good in this world) on a piece of paper and have kept it by my bedside. It reads: “I trust this BIG love-based universe a lot more than my tiny fear-based ego.”•
My life has always been a practice in stepping off the edge of the known into the uncharted unknown. Over and over again, I have re-envisioned my life, grown into that vision and then recreated it again. •
It has taken me a long time to fully integrate that concept. I grew and grew and grew and grew where I was planted but I never stepped outside of the safety of the pot I first sprouted in. At a certain point, though, you grow so much that your roots burst through their container as if on an exhale.•
I have reached that point, my friends.•
This is a vague announcement of many changes on the horizon that will slowly reveal themselves over the coming months, but mostly it’s a post to say that if you thought you would be afraid or stuck forever, just keep going. Don’t worry about the pace you’re going at, what the people around you are doing or what you’re hearing (from yourself or others) that you *should* be doing or being or looking like or thinking or feeling. Emerging from trauma, fear, anger, expectation, inertia, heartbreak, regret, doubt, etc. is a process - one that you need to consistently work on until you find a method that works for you. There will be days you feel as if you’ll be Doing The Work forever (pro tip: you will), but The Work shifts as you make space for growth and at some point The Work even becomes joyful and exciting when you start to realize the direction you are headed in.•
Trust that you are In Process and what lies ahead is much greater than anything your tiny fear-based ego could have ever imagined for itself. This crazy amazing love-based universe is waiting for you…can you feel it??

Anthony Profeta is a medical student turned meditation/mindfulness teacher. His knowledge of meditation stems from 18+ yrs of intensive study. He first became passionate about meditation after his initiation into Kriya Yoga, in 2000. Since that time, he has been meditating & studying the art with well-respected teachers, Jack Kornfield & Sharon Salzberg, and the heart son of the current Dalai Lama. He received training in various techniques in monasteries & ashrams of the US, Nepal, & India.
This morning we started talking about the shoulder joint in class and, as promised, here are the images I wanted to reference. This first shows the shallow cup that the head of the upper arm sits in. The second begins to show the muscular attachments that hold the upper arm bone in that shallow cup. We started working with basic engagement in load bearing postures like plank to feel this engagement, and how this translates at the wall in climbing for added strength and support. We will continue to build strength and add weight in postures like downward dog, dolphin, headstand and more over the next few weeks. Come to class or DM with questions!

I know how important these things are, because my experience of it all is at the level of the crystalline grid of creation. Which means: I can feel, at the most primal, cellular level, for myself and for those around me. I know where things move from; I follow the nuance of a breath; I feel the firing of neurons and the entrance point of a wound; I see injuries and understand how the body needs to heal; I feel collisions of the external and the internal…I know. I feel. I see. I understand.•
I have extensive trainings in all manner of yogic, psychological, physical and spiritual practices. I am constantly and enthusiastically learning. And while everything I learn informs how I show up, the only thing I can truly offer you is me. Unfiltered, authentic and open. •
At first, I offered my gifts to my existing yoga clients in a rather vague, disorganized manner. As the seasons change I bring into my awareness the recognition that I too am changing.
The changes happen in my body so rapidly that I barely see them. Day to day, people look in the mirror with the illusion that they are the same. Yet inside of our bodies the cells are constantly coming and going. Hairs are falling out, new hairs are growing. Old skin flaking is off, new skin is regenerating. Fingernails are growing, breaking off, and growing again. These are the subtle seasons changing in our bodies. •
Resistance to change is futile. Life exists in the change, in the inconstant. When something no longer changes, it is no longer alive.
It is with this recognition that I find peace in change. I know that when I experience change in one form or another, I am alive. •
Inhaling deeply I welcome change.
Exhaling slowly I let go of my fear of change.
In between the inhalation and exhaustion I rest, if only for a millisecond, with the awareness that this process means I am alive. I am here, now, in this ever-changing, living universe.
