My lunch today! Left over lean hamburger from the cook out a cpl nights ago, carrots, tomato, spinach, 1% cottage cheese, and fresh squeezed lime. All wrapped up in a tomato basil tortilla. Quick... easy... and so yummy! #healthyeating#healthylifestyle#healthy#healthyfood
How I eat when on holiday 🌿 Which is basically the way I eat at home tbh!
1. Eat whatever you want for breakfast; for me the chances of kicking a craving to the curb super early allows me to not think about it for the rest of the day - In Bali it’s been smoothie bowls; because as wholesome as the ingredients are, they are in NO way macro friendly ha ha.
2. Lunch & dinner: I just make sure there is more than one green on the plate, with a protein to keep me full for the adventure of the day.
3. Treats are inconsistent, but if I can’t have it back home, I NEVER say no. There is just no sanity in denying yourself a new cultural experience.
4. When it comes to a cocktail or drank I just make sure there are no syrup, sugars, fizzy drank or fake fruit juice in it. Keep it neat and tidy.
5. Drink as much water as you can! Your body is probably super unsettled by the change in environment, and produce it’s now consuming - so help it out a little.
Anyway those are just some lil’ nuggets from the week away from home.
It’s time to head out on a 2am bike hike here which I’m crazy excited about! 🙆🏼♀️
I took a month long hiatus from "expectations" and it was exactly what I needed to remind myself of my WHY. I've hardly gained anything on the scale but almost all my IBS symptoms are back. I'm feeling stiff and sore and I'm craving movement. It's a major lesson that I eat clean and exercise because my body runs it's best and I feel my best when I do. I do these things because I love my body, not because I hate it!! I'm so excited to start a round of whole 30 and see exactly what foods my body responds to most! 🤗🔥👑🏋️♀️💕

155 v 145. About 7 months ago, I took a look at myself and I realized that I could strive for better. I wasn’t eating correctly, I was doing cardio for hours, and I just wasn’t happy. I realized I had to make some changes in my life, and eventually I did. I became aware of what I was putting into my body/counted macros, I started heavy weight training, and I focused on hobbies that pushed me towards my goals rather than away from them. I started to embrace my body, rather than being ashamed of it. I began posting pictures of my progress, and embracing the positivity that comes with health and fitness social media rather than being paranoid that my progress pictures would make me look too “sexy”. (Guys!! We all have bodies, show them off regardless of what stupid people think). On my vacation, I was proud of my body. I thought this was my peak and there was nothing more I could do. Boy, was I wrong. Though there is only 10lbs difference between the pictures, what I lost in body fat, I gained in muscle 😊 I can’t wait to keep progressing in my health and fitness journey and see where life takes me. This next month I’ll be pushing myself even more. I signed up for boxing classes (ready to kick some butt 💪🏼) and I’m making plans to completely revamp my diet. Keep grinding out your goals everyone!! Can’t wait to see how you all progress! ❤️ #healthylifestyle#healthyeating#gymselfie#gymmotivation#progress#progressnotperfection#gymlife#fitnessjourney#fitnessmotivation#fitnesstransformation#fitnessaddict
🍌Most people expect fat loss to continue in a linear fashion, and when it doesn't, they make their diet even more extreme. They "diet harder" so to speak. They don't want to accept the plateaus or temporary rises in weight. But their expectations aren't realistic and the strategy of restricting 🍟calories only works against them.
🍉Remember, the body decides where calories are allocated, and its energy expenditure is based on a hierarchy of needs. The energy required for resting metabolic rate🔥 (RMR) are always met first, as these are essential for survival.
🍍What does 🔥RMR entail? It's the amount of energy – calories you burn at rest – including brain function. Your body has to work just to keep you alive, and RMR accounts for these basic functions. In fact, approximately 60-75% of your daily calories are required for these processes.
🍗Any remaining energy is used for daily activities including exercise, recovery, and adaptation. When insufficient 🍔calories are consumed, the body needs to find a way of fueling these activities. Ideally this would come from the breakdown of body fat and release of 🧀fatty acids into the energy cycle. So while this system of lowering calories often works well in the beginning, over time it can diminish for a number of reasons.

You've seen people do weighted dips. Think about this as weighted dips for your quads. .
Use a weighted belt+ dumbell (you can even attach it to a pully machine)
Sissy squats work great, these are up there with them because it takes the pressure off your lower back, so if you have issues with your lower back give this excersise a shot!!
📽: myself 😂
had a grain bowl for lunch yesterday! brown rice, roasted sweet potato, sautéed kale and spinach, tofu, cauliflower, and teriyaki dressing!
Don’t be afraid of carbs! I see so many people cutting out carbs to lose weight or be healthy, and you’re depriving yourself of so much fiber and so many nutrients! As long as you eat the right carbohydrates (whole grains, fruits, starchy vegetables) you will be fine!
My biggest tip with carbohydrates is moderation! If you have a carb-filled lunch, such as mine here, maybe have a lower carb dinner, such as a lean protein, salad, and veggies. This balance will prevent you from overconsumption of carbohydrates, which turn to sugars and stored fats in the body. As long as you eat them in moderation, these carbohydrates are a great source of energy and fiber!

it’s mission clean out the fridge before a few sporadic days out of my house this weekend and next week 🙌🏼 found a yogurt in the back of my fridge that i needed to use asap before it went bad - used it with some essentials to make this bowl 🤸🏻♀️ nothing complicated, lots of flavor and textures, now i’m ready to tackle wednesday 😈 it’s been an incredible week so far and i hope youre all doing the same!.
thank YOU ✨ to everyone who watched my stories yesterday about my experience with manifestation and how it helped me learn a lot about myself! i truly believe the universe (or whatever higher power you believe in - i dont judge, i support everyone’s beliefs because i think having faith in something is so important) has your back 💫 you have to do the work, put time and effort into what you want while also trusting that it may not, accepting it but not giving up on it - it took most this year for me to learn that 🤗 it’s still a process, my journey has only just begun but wow, i FEEL the energy and i can’t wait to learn more about myself! so thank you universe, youre the second realest mvp (because ultimately, YOU are the first) 🙋🏻♀️ happy wednesday! #fitstrongshann.

Growing up we would eat pasta every Wednesday night at Papa Gino's🍝 no joke... and then I married a Gino( some day I'll make him a papa too) I love pasta, best of course in Italy 🇮🇹 ... some days I choose regular pasta with sauce, other days I choose summer squash spiralized w/ sautéed tomatoes, 1 tsp olive oil 🍅 + garlic... I'm all about moderation and I'm all about educating YOU ✌🏼
