A hot drink with honey and often with lemon and ginger as well - is a well-known homemade remedy for coughs and a sore throat. Most coughs are caused by viruses, which cannot be treated with antibiotics and will usually clear up on their own. Unfortunately there is a common misconception that prescription of antibiotics can help to treat coughs however there is limited evidence to suggest that antibiotics help improve cough symptoms. Honey as a natural alternative or cough medicines containing pelargonium, guaifenesin or dextromethorphan are most beneficial. Patients are being advised to use these treatments and wait for symptoms to improve on their own, before going to a GP.
Day 24 of my 30 Days to Healthy Living...something fresh and easy for a weds night! Grilled Salmon with avocado, rocket (& other green stuff) & toasted pumpkin seeds 😊 I'm glad this was quick and easy as I'm not too sure where the evening has gone! It's one of my all time favourites though and it's so good every time!!
You already know what you need to do to be healthy. It's actually not that complicated. You need to move your body every day 🏃♀️, eat real food 🥒 , express your emotions 🤣, drink lots of water 🚰 , avoid toxins, eat more vegetables, laugh lots... You already know this.
So why aren't we already healthy? Because doing all of these things on a daily basis with our busy lives can be difficult. We don't know how to build these habits, what to cook, where to start, and how to find the time to do it. Being healthy is simple but it's not always easy.
And that's exactly why we're all supporting each other over in the Collective. When we come together, we can simplify our health, build a healthier mindset, and finally make all of our dreams come true! Want to join our amazing tribe? Come check it out -link in bio! ✨
Snacksssss. I’ve lost 6 stone (slightly less atm but I’m getting back there) and I genuinely believe the best way to do it is to do a diet that fits in your lifestyle in a way that’s healthy, happy and sustainable.
I’ve tried fully restrictive meal replacement diets and I didn’t get anywhere good with them. Food is a huge source of joy in my life and realistically I’m never going to last long enough to actually lose any weight on a diet that denies me all of that.
I switched to calorie counting at the start of this year and it was the best thing I did, so that’s what I’ve gone back to now I’m dieting again. Every single day without fail I have freedom in my calories to have a bit of chocolate, a couple of biscuits, something sweet because I’ve got a dreadful sweet tooth and if I don’t feed it I can’t live.
I’ve found this way you can train yourself to be satisfied with much smaller quantities of sugar and so now I can feel like 2 Jaffa Cakes rather than 20 hits the spot (who am I kidding I’d still eat 200 rn if I could lol).
No, jokes aside, having the freedom to eat a few sweet treats in moderation both helps you when you’re actively dieting because it makes it easier to stick to, and helps you in the long term as you learn to eat normal-people portions of these things rather than 3 entire family servings in one sitting.
2 Jaffa Cakes (my fave), Mini Jammie Ds (a close second) and 2 Mikado sticks (really handy at just 11 cals each) for 203 cals.

💥 Fit tip of the day! 💥 👇🏽
Did you know that every time you go to sleep at night you wake up dehydrated? Our bodies need fluids to operate functionally. Our brain tissue is made up of 75% water, so if you feel groggy and fatigued lack of water can be the culprit.
Its recommended to drink 16oz of water (maybe more depending on your size) immediately upon waking. Heres a few reasons why:
▪️It fires up your metabolism
▪️Ends the dehydration from sleeping from hours
▪️Helps flush out body toxins
▪️Aids you in appetite control as you'll feel fuller from the water making you eat less
▪️Helps you wake up!

What are you daily rituals saying about you? Do you do things on a consistent basis or are they haphazard? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Set yourself a target of staying consistent for the next week, assess what worked, what didn’t work and what your want to achieve in the week to come. REPEAT until you don’t have to think about it ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

‘Shake it off’ - releasing tension through the body. I have found this method effective at the beginning and end of any movement session. The focus here is through utilising ‘the centre’ as a point to initiate and continue the movement from via spirals and circular patterns ... “release your kinetic potential”.
Pumpkin Pie Peanut Butter Oats 🎃✨
