🕛A year ago I set the goal of reading more. I wanted to nourish my brain, develop other perspectives and because knowledge and education is one of my values. I find joy in learning and teaching and sharing what I learn to others.
⚡Flash forward to now, not only am I reading, I have become a reader.
📚I have already read 10 books this year. My goal is 20 books by then end of 2018.
☀️Every morning I believe it's a new opportunity to "be" different. When I say "be" I mean through thought and emotions because that is what attracts into our life and shapes our beliefs and destiny.
💪 I don't know if people really have a great understanding of what that means and how much power that holds when you actually belief the infite power that holds for you once you not only understand that, but feel that. I am still working on embracing this too but at least knowing that, excites me.
🗓️How you set up your day is how you end your day. This is what is called your book endings.
Every morning I practice the same ritual:
💖Morning movement (workout/cardio).
❇️All of these prime my day. They prime my mind and my body. I choose to nourish with good so that I can be great for myself and my clients and do what I am passionate about. To help and serve others.
How do you start your day?
👉 If you are waking up with anger.
👉 if you wake up in the middle of the night with a racing mind.
👉if you find yourself judging others and yourself.
👉if your stuck in comparison to mode.
👉if you're playing the victim card.
💪You have all the power to change that. Nobody else can do that for you. And with that, you should feel empowered by that.

Courtesy of the University of Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Division (where I am completing my summer internship) here is a new and absolutely delicious recipe: Vegetarian Stir-Fry! This dish is a great way to get those super beneficial (but seriously underrated) micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) in! Some important nutrients in this dish include Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin E, Folate, Iron, and Potassium; all of which are important for optimal health. Recipe is below! ***Recipe makes two servings
-2tbsp canola oil -1/2 cup broccoli florets -1 carrot (julienned) -1/3 cup red bell pepper diced -1/3 cup onion diced -2 cloves garlic minced -1 cup brown rice (prepared how you like) -1tbsp low sodium soy sauce -1tbsp honey -1/2tbsp fresh lime juice -place canola oil into pan on medium heat
-place onions into pan and let cook until they begin to soften
-place red peppers, carrots, and broccoli into pan. Cook until vegetables begin to soften on the outside.
-While vegetables are cooking mix the soy sauce, honey, and lime juice in separate small bowl and set aside.
-Once vegetables are almost done cooking add garlic into pan and cook for about 2 minutes.
-Add in sauce and cook until vegetables are soft on the outside and a bit crunchy on the inside. -Serve immediately over a bed of brown rice and enjoy!
Walnuts are healthy nuts which have so many health benefits.
It can serve as a healthy snack for weight watchers. It is very good for everyone and very good for those with heart conditions.

**Long post ahead — proceed at your own discretion** Every year I am less than thrilled when I throw that bathing suit on. This year, I told myself, I would not feel that way! I have worked hard to start feeling better about my body, and even though I may not have the perfect bikini bod I want (yet 😉) I should feel great about my results! 👙
I wanted to provide 3 tips that are great strategies if you are trying to shed a few pounds, and feel better in that suit this summer. If you need help getting started, I am here and happy to share more about my journey and how I’ve lost 15 lbs and toned my muscles in just a few short months! 💪🏼 1. Find ways to get more exercise. * Schedule your workouts in advance. 📆
* Enjoy your workouts. If you don’t like running, then don’t! Find another workout that makes you EXCITED to do it!
* Find new ways to be more active throughout the day. 💃🏽🤸🏽♀️🏌🏽♀️🚴🏼♀️ 2. Stick to a healthy eating plan. * Healthy snacking is important. 🍏🥕🥑🍌
* Try measuring meal portions, and putting the rest of the food away before you eat, so you don’t feel obligated to finish it all. *Meal Prep! Who has time to cook full meals every day? Definitely not me. 🥒🍳 3. Get more sleep and keep yourself accountable. *Lack of sleep lowers your metabolic rate and boosts your appetite, so get the hours you need to help progress those results! 😴
* Enlist a workout buddy, download a nutrition/fitness app, or share your journey on social media to keep you on track to meet your goals!

During my GRATITUDE run I experienced some pain coming through I had a choice to stop or slow down and in the moment I made a decision to push forward and go faster
When you are after something or going towards something there will be some resistance but I promise you if you fight and push through you will find true strength inside of you
