Our path has not been easy, but where there is a will there is a way. I can proudly say everything we have become in life was because of hard work and our motivation to make our mom proud and show her that her struggles were well damn worth it. Thank you sister and may god bless you in your new career path. #proudsister#sdsheriff#coplife#hardwork#educatedlatina#dontmesswithher#deputy

Be the reason why someone else is inspired to chase their goals. 🎒

Every Tuesday I bring you a new transformation post and today I thought I would bring it back to where it all started! .
In 2014 I decided that enough was enough! I was sick and tired of feeling tired, lumpy, overweight, out of breath and just all together crummy! .
So I took a leap of faith...I had tried weight watchers, joined a gym, did a class from time to time, but after two kiddos and a move back to my hometown I needed something else...something that would GUIDE me through the steps and keep me accountable THROUGHOUT the process.
I stumbled across a post about this thing called t25 and this shake that was supposed help with energy and sweets cravings...I decided to give it a try (fully expecting I would fail and take them up in the 100% money back guarantee) .
Y’all it was HARD! I was 145lbs and 5’2” (barely) and this program kicked my tail...but ya know what else it did...
It gave me hope
It gave me something to look forward to each day
It challenged me physically and mentally
It broke me down and built me back up
It gave me a community along with it of other ladies...other mamas doing the same thing I was...trying to change our lives for the better! .
I knew in that moment this was for me...this is what I was missing! .
Since t25 I have completed NUMEROUS programs and each time I learn more about myself and my health and I get to help other mamas along my journey. Oh and that shake ... yea i drink it every day! .
My next fit club starts this week and enrollment is still OPEN! Interested...drop an emoji 🙋🏻♀️ below or if you want to keep it private shoot me a message or email me [email protected] I can’t wait to chat ❤️
My conventional deadlift is my best lift mainly because it makes sense the most sense to me (my leverages help a bit too but ye). If you’re stuck/plateauing w the conventional (best) deadlift & not sure why here are some tips & cues that I like to use 🤗
1.) The deadlift is a PUSH, not a pull. Think about pushing the bar up through your entire foot (heel, big toe, & little toe) rather than pulling the bar up.
2.) When going down to meet the bar, push your hips back & FEEL the stretch in your hamstrings & glutes (similar to loading your hamstrings & glutes while descending into a squat).
3.) I think it’s sometimes forgotten that you have room to play with when it comes to your conventional stance! Don’t be afraid to spread your feet a lil farther or a lil closer together, you can also play with your feet pointing out a bit! I used to deadlift with my feet about 5-6 inches closer together but having them a little wider is more optimal for me & my body structure. Even an inch wider or closer can make a difference!
Hopefully this helps!! Generally, I think these are all cues that can help any conventional deadlift without messing too much with mechanics & will only improve it if that’s what you’re looking for! I definitely didn’t figure it all out on my own though, @kimchistrong is a frickin god & has helped me improve my lifts SO MUCH 😭🖤 THANKS FOR ATTENDING SWILLY’S SCHOOL OF DEADLIFTING COME AGAIN SOON
Was training in Sacramento today and ran into a great friend of mine from @ucdavis . I remember when we used to hit PR’s back & forth and went head to head with our chest day exercises. Those were the good ol’ days. @luis_antonio_tolento 💪🏻
Wish you further success in Pharmacy school! 📚

HOW TO AVOID POST-SHOW REBOUND 👊🏼💦
1️⃣ Allow yourself to have a few days to eat what you want untracked but don’t eat until you feel sick
2️⃣ Drink LOTS of water
3️⃣ Get back into the gym as soon as you can
4️⃣ Keep doing your cardio and slowly decrease it over the weeks following the show
5️⃣ Have a good coach who will hold you accountable! @teamatlasmtl and I have already done a post show check in and soon I’ll have my reverse diet plan from him.
6️⃣ Be okay with gaining a few pounds. It is not sustainable to be stage lean year round. You gotta eat more to build lean muscle and it’s important to learn to love your body in all its stages!
7️⃣ Make it a lifestyle! Just because you’re done your show, doesn’t mean it’s time to give up on the gym and eat whatever you want. You can easily throw your months of hard work down the drain in a matter of weeks if you’re not careful!
