Are you feeling that you are experiencing a lot of stress? Are you feeling like there is nothing you can do about it? I know that most adults with Asperger’s Syndrome live in a constant state of anxiety. Yet, I am wondering if there is a way to learn to make life a little less stressful. Here is just one of many very simple strategies which may just work for you😉! .
Some researchers have found evidence that upbeat music 🎵 can make us happier and when we are happier we are less stressed. While we listen 👂🏻 to our happy songs they work on our nervous system and affect our heart ❣ rate and blood pressure. The happy songs also improve our mood, create positive emotions and feelings.
So, what are you waiting for! Go on - use your favourite happy songs to create a playlist! Listen to this playlist every day for 14 consecutive days.
You may be thinking that this approach is way too simplistic to work and is definitely not going to help a very anxious person with autism. I guess without trying you are not going to find out if this strategy can help you with your anxiety. .
Remember, I don’t claim that this strategy will work for everyone. Individuals with autism are all unique and so is their anxiety. So, more complex stress management strategies might need to be designed through bespoke 1:1 coaching sessions.
