#fbf to when my first baby was born. I’m super confused as to how he got to be 18 but very happy with the awesome adult that he’s growing into. Happy birthday Caleb! #happierpodcast
The big moments may stay in your memory for longer, but the small ones make up the bulk of your life. Maybe what you do every day matters more than what happens every once in a while.
What is your weekend going to be like, more big or more small moments? ❤️
I just finished her book “The 5 Second Rule”, which gave me a lot to think about. I have a very different personality than her ( #rebel tendency rears it’s mighty head in me!) but I love this idea of building trust in yourself. #happierpodcast#bookstagram#amreading#melrobbins
If you’ve worked out with me you know that I don’t like change. (Ever tried lifting in “my” spot?)😉 So naturally I was apprehensive when my beloved evening classes changed to Training Grounds. While I know it’ll take awhile longer before I’m actually comfortable with it, it’s hard to argue with a 100% PR rate at Training Grounds so far. 🤷🏽♀️✌🏼☀️
Onions. Butter. Heat. And time. That is all. Over an hour on the stove, stirring frequently. A treat as a side with roasted chicken for lunch. Nourishment.
The first time I made caramelized onions at home a few years ago was also the first time I felt empowered from cooking, from executing a recipe, from gaining skill, from learning how to make something so powerful out of something so simple.
In the opening to her book “The Gastronomical Me,” iconic food writer M.F.K. Fisher quotes essayist George Santayana: “To be happy you must have taken the measure of your powers, tasted the fruits of your passion, and learned your place in the world.” Making caramelized onions (as well as cooking and baking in general, of course) always feels like taking the measure of my own powers.
Y’all, today has been completely incredible! 😍🙌🏻
It’s the best day of the week in the coaching community because we get to recognize coaches on our team for hitting goals in their business AND it’s payday (it still blows my mind that I’m getting to make an income on the side doing something that I have such a passion for)! .
Tonight, I got to share with our team some exciting events coming up in the next couple of months, including a team retreat where I get to spoil and love on these incredible women who have such a special place in my heart! 💙
And if today couldn’t get any better, I received my highest weekly paycheck I’ve EVER earned from coaching and almost cried this morning when I saw it! And every penny of it will be going into savings! Not what you’d expect from this impulse-buyer, right?? We have some big dreams for the future and we are working every day towards them! And y’all, I can’t freaking wait to see where these dreams God has placed on our hearts will take us!
Don’t be afraid to dream big, y’all. Dream big dreams, pray constantly, and hustle hard. If God places a calling on your life, the time and hard work will always be worth it.
If you’ve ever wondered about what I do as a health and fitness coach or if you’ve ever wanted to be a part of a community of women who genuinely love and support one another, send me a message! I’d love to share my heart with you ✨
Another annoying task handled (well, maybe). For the past three years we have had a large picture hanging in our living room. Due to where the studs are located, it wasn’t hung in the middle of the wall. As such, anytime we opened the door to the tv cabinet, it hit the picture—which is almost always. I’ve wanted to rethink this for a while. It just so happened the picture above the couch in our front room broke. After I came up with moving our craft dresser to our guest room, I figured out I could maybe go shopping in the house to solve these two problem areas as well. I ended up moving the large painting from the living room to the front room (picture #3–but we think we will need to move it up a bit). Then I scooped up the long metal piece wrapped in wood from @michaels on super sale. My original intention was to hang it horizontally, but it didn’t fit where the screws were from the large painting. Then, my brilliant daughter came up with idea of hanging it vertically. I went shopping in the house again and used the “enjoy every moment sign” from our kitchen and a wreath I sometimes use on our front door. The wreath is a placeholder until I find or make something I like better or decide I like it where it is. I am going to live with this for a bit to see if I really like it or not. I’m just happy the door doesn’t hit anything anymore! #workinprogress#shopathome#reuse#happierpodcast
Y’all, I can already tell this is going to be my favorite workout of the program, purely because of the fact that it was my LEAST favorite today! 🙈
Shoulder exercises have always been my weakness because I have a lot of hyper-mobility in my shoulders (basically the joints are loose so they pop in and out of place easily). .
In the past, I always used that as an excuse to not do much upper body work and before today, I would have never considered doing a workout that was entirely focused on shoulders 😳
I’m going to be honest, that 30 minutes was painful. I wanted to give up so many times. And by the end, I had to modify to the point that I wasn’t even using weights at all on the shoulder flys. .
BUT I made it through. And now, I’m just EXCITED! This is exactly the program I need to be challenged in ways I never have been before! .
Our greatest strengths grow from the places of our greatest weaknesses. I want to challenge you today. Find an area of your life where you feel weakness. Maybe it’s with a workout, or mental illness, or a broken relationship, or insecurities. Find that place, and make a move TODAY to start growing stronger. You can become the happiest, most confident version of yourself. You just have to take that first step.
Make a list of 100 things you want: to own, to do, to see, to achieve. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What’s on your list?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thanks for the suggestion, @beingbossclub.
And so band camp began last night. He is so excited about beginning this musical journey. And no matter how long it takes for him to get any better, I’m relishing in his enthusiasm for it! #happierpodcast#baritonebrody
A calm moment on the balcony with sweet Dog. Eyes rest on the horizon. Orange, just after sunset.
Toasted granola and almond milk. Ripe strawberries and a few bites of cantaloupe. Light dinner at the end of a long, restless day. Deep breaths in.
Shift to night.

Some days, I get super excited about pizza. Other days, I’m BEYOND pumped for a salad and this salad from Publix is by FAR my favorite 😍🙌🏻 the feta cheese will have to go because #dairyfreeprobs but the rest is amazingggg!
Tried something new tonight. Made our own cilantro lime marinade. These are the baked tenders, the grilled ones are in our bellies! So yummy.
This makes a large batch—1 cup olive oil. 1 187ml bottle of Sauvignon Blanc white wine. 1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice. 2 tbsp Kosher salt. 1 tbsp coarse black pepper. 2 tsp garlic powder. 2 tsp cumin. And 1/2 a bunch of cilantro roughly chopped. #cilantrolimechicken#homemademarinade#delicious#happierpodcast#18for2018
Events like the Royal Wedding help me remember my own past better: what was I doing when XYZ event happened?
Do you find yourself using these kind of big events as milestones that help you remember the past?
And of course, it also makes me think of my own wedding. ♥️ #RoyalWedding#happierpodcast
