Here’s the deal with these greens supplements... THEY’RE A SUPPLEMENT 😅 This means that they are most certainly not necessary for living a healthy life or even for reaching your fitness goals.
If you eat your vegetables, you’re probably gucci on the vitamins and mineral front. People go their WHOLE LIVES without taking vitamins or drinking protein or consuming the life-altering greens and, guess what, they’re still healthy and happy 😱 You know what they also are? $50 richer a month bc that shit’s EXPENSIVE 💸💸💸
Now you may be thinking “But Genevieve, you’ve definitely bought things like this before... what the heck?” Well, the heck is that I fell for the very convincing marketing done by these PAID influencers. When influencers talk about products they are being paid to promote they can be extremely convincing, which is annoying but also like good for them bc they’re good at their job lol 😆
Anywho, moral of the story is if you want to buy the greens and drink them, then do it for sure! But know that they are not going to fix all of your problems like bloating, acne, energy, cramps, thin hair, losing a pet, going bankrupt, or the fact that you’re still not married to Joe Jonas 🐸☕️

Barbell Tricep Extension (Skull Crusher) (Video 1)
Description: an isolation exercise that targets the muscles of the triceps.
Muscles used: Triceps
1. Lie on the floor with the knees bent and feet planted flat.
2. Place hands on barbell slightly closer than shoulder width apart with a pronated grip. Extend arms above the chest and brace the midsection to prevent excessive arching of the lower back.
3. Lower the barbell down to the forehead with control by hinging at the elbow joint. Stop the barbell just above the forehead.
4. Straighten the arms to lift the barbell back to the start position.
5. This completes on rep.
*ensure that the elbows don't move during the lift.
Elbows flared out (Video 2)
Flaring the elbows will reduce the stretch and tension placed across the triceps, increase the force placed on the elbow joint and decrease the effectiveness of the exercise to stimulate the muscles of the triceps.
Corrective action: imagine the elbows are bound together by a piece of string.
Moving at the shoulder joint (Video 3)
Moving at the shoulder joint will essentially turn this isolation exercise into a compound, multi joint movement recruiting the lats and chest to assist while reducing the activation of the triceps.
Corrective action: focus on keeping the elbows motionless. Imaging hinging from the joint while you extend the arm straight.

⚡️MINI BARBELL BOOTY WORKOUT⚡️
If the squat racks are taken I like to use a mini Barbell! Instead of doing pyramid training, which is how I often utilize these workouts in PWR, I will do sets of slightly higher reps (12-15) as the weight is lighter! Also, if you are just starting out the mini barbells are excellent! JUST the bar (Olympic Barbell) weighs 45 lbs, so until you are 100% comfortable doing these moves with at least a 60 lb mini Barbell, stick with the smaller ones! Then build up.🏋🏻♀️🖤⚡️
Four sets of 15 reps for each of these moves for a challenging Glutes and Hamstring focused session!👊🏼

This is the first season since I started @spartan back in 2014 that I didn't get a Trifecta.
And yet, somehow, this has been the most emotionally fulfilling year in so many other ways than personal growth - because of moments like this one.
Shifting my focus this season from "doing as much as I can" to "doing as much as I can for others" has left me with way less medals but way more tears of complete and utter joy. And pride. And a deep sense of accomplishment in a totally different way.
I had less hours spent on mountains, but more moments alone with many of you to hear your stories, give you hugs and connect in a human way that allowed me to spread my message and help people overcome their own fears.
And I owe alot of those moments to the fact that I was just simply training for or recovering from some other goals I had this year.
A quick shift to endurance left me "out" for many of the typical races I do, but I did my best to still BE there as a support system and social butterfly for the community I owe so much of my life to.
Because the fact remains that I would never be where I am today without @spartan.
And that is not an exaggeration.
I don't have a 2018 Beast medal hanging on my wall, but this season birthed so many other firsts for me than the years prior that I'm still bubbling with happiness.
So to you, my 2018 Spartan Season, we knew eachother differently this year, but we learned eachother more intimately.
I'm still just as in love with you as I have been, and I'm honored to be one of the faces (and alleged accents) that gets to connect a little bit extra with so many people.
You all play a bigger role in my story than you probably realize, and I cannot fucking wait to see what happens in 2019.
