Hey girl, you should train chest.
A lot of women avoid training chest. They think it shouldn’t be trained since big pecs aren’t the aesthetic they’re going for. It’s understandable. But training your chest isn’t necessarily about getting a big chest, it’s about having a functional body. When you start to neglect certain body parts, you create imbalances within the body.
You don’t have to make it the focus on your program. But having it incorporated - whether it’s with one day that includes a few sets on bench press or focusing on chest movements at an incline that also double up on training your shoulder as well - is crucial. You’ll create a body that is overall functional and strong which is so important for your overall health.
Always remember that you can focus on growing your strength rather than growing your muscles if there are certain parts of the body you’re not necessarily looking to increase size on!

.......... We all look to attain a particular image of ourselves. A lot of times we destroy ourselves in order to try and get something or somewhere and never truly find happiness because we become so caught up in everything going on around us or what the next person is doing, looks like, etc. Recently I have been learning to pursue happiness through each step inside of this journey called life and stop worrying so much about what goes on outside of my own personal experiences. I was not placed on this Earth to be better than the next man or woman I am here to be the BEST version of MYSELF. The man God intended me to be. Though I struggle and have my ups and downs, both physical and mental, I am continuing to grow and learn each and everyday. Don't let the next fad, trend, or social media bullshit tell you how you are suppose to look or feel, create attainable PERSONAL goals and crush em!

I always think that I look chunky but at least some of it went to the right places😅Really need to grow these baby-abskis (wish my sister could donate me some of her’s🙄). Last update for the month until I start leaning out, for the first time, next month.
Lightweight, slow negatives (going down), will have you feeling some time of way!
I save my ego weights for last 😂. After I’ve focused on contractions and really tearing up the fibers.

Want to shout out another one of my good training partners. When we started off training together years ago my boy Joe was 160 lbs soaking wet and could barely manage three shaky chinups. With some hard work and elbow grease he got up to doing chins with 20 lbs strapped to his weights for reps at 170 lbs. No secret training method, no special supplements, just plain hard work and sticking to the basics. Today he’s around 180 pushing 80 lb dumbbells on the bench with ease. For you ectomorphs, #hardgainer s and all you guys with super high metabolisms, you can make gains too. Stick to the basic compounds, try to get stronger at them and get your protein in, don’t sweat the small stuff. Then you can get results like Joe’s too 👑

Who else forgets about that monthly Netflix or amazon premium fee?🤣🙋🏻♀️ the other day my mom was talking about how expensive it was to keep her gym membership and I thought, wait how much do I pay for mine?
Lucky for me I only pay a yearly fee! But then I thought wait if she’s spending $15-20 A MONTH for her gym with zero classes, no personal training seshs, no nutritional plans, and no support group how the fluff is that even worth the value just for her ordinary gym? How is she gonna stay accountable?🥺 it simply isn’t worth that!
The girls I’m grinding with in my support group not only don’t need a membership for any gym (unless they wanted) but they can work out from literally anywhere if they have WiFi! How convenient is that! That’s also how I’ve been able to keep my workouts at home on colder days when I don’t wanna leave the house🙂 the other stuff I like is that we all connect online, have hundreds of different meal plans, and personal trainers that show correct form and tempo😛
It’s changed my body way more than I thought it would, if you don’t wanna worry about a monthly fee, wanna make new fit bffs, and get the bod I’d love to have you 💜🥰
👌🏽❄️😝⬅️ Today was a ROUGH day for me in terms of how I was feeling... To kick things off with.. I’m NOT a morning person... I tossed and turned last night only to have to be up by 6am...By the time everyone was off to their respective places.. I felt super tired... Sore and extremely cold (one of the many perks of hypothyroidism! 😝)... Took me over an hour to get muster up any fleeting energy reserve I had.. Layered up.. And headed out at last.. AND.... Despite feeling like shit... I somehow was able to muster up the will & strength to put in as much volume as I did 😀 When there’s a will, there’s a way! Combo of 3 moves for strength today made for a spicy start (back squats/pull-ups/Inch Worms).. Wished I could have gone up to 165lb on those squats but a pinched nerve on my back wasn’t having it... Left it at 155. Came up with a gnarly Metcon that had me going! Before moving up to a cardio/strength number upstairs (took advantage of the fairly slow gym day there)... Core work to finish things off! Tomorrow? More endurance cardio in the works! Home gym training on the weekend more than likely... Excited that the weekend is upon us! And hoping I manage to stay warm because it’ll be a VERY COLD ONE 😝❄️🌬Nonetheless.. I am so grateful that I continue to make progress! Woot woot!
