Be like a tree.
Connect with your roots.
Turn over a new leaf.
Bend before you break.
Enjoy your unique, natural, beauty.
Making it a habit to speak with Mother Nature & thank her for all that is provided to us. As much as we expect it, it is a privilege to have trees on earth for oxygen.
If there’s one thing I noticed being back in #NewZealand in the mighty #Waikato, was that there are HARDLY ANY TREES!!! When we flew in, all we could see was paddocks for farming, EVERYWHERE. Not just the Waikato 💔😢
Shout out to our friends out there planting the native bush by our rivers and in places to help minimise the horrible effects farming has on #Aotearoa and helping our future generations reap the benefits of planting these amazing trees.
EDIT - DID YOU KNOW:
• 90% of lowland pastoral urban rivers are unsafe for recreation.
• 62% of New Zealand’s waterways are UNSAFE to swim in due to pollution.
• 72% of New Zealand’s native fish are threatened with extinction, in our water ways!
• 44% of New Zealand’s lakes are defined as polluted for recreation.
This is absolutely heart breaking and crazy to think that these are the statistics! Just think about it guys... Not even 160 years ago, this place was THRIVING with bush, fresh water & abundance. With awareness and conscious living, living with intention, we can get back to that! 💚
On another note I am so grateful that here in #Australia, there are an abundance of trees. Fortunately there is enough land here (for now), to deal with the Humans taking over.
From now on, I am not going to talk about planting trees. I am actually going to plant one, nearby my place, take its care, watch it grow and repeat the same process, time and again. .
Because everytime you will see your planted tress grow, you will cheer up, for it would not be your plant. It'd be your baby, your responsibility.
Put in a 25 micron napkin folded, wrapped in paper towels, put in a textbook and stepped on for abt 30 seconds. Not too long. After removing moisture i broke it back up into a conic sifter from grocery store. Worked best i could but some of it is straight gum. I think thats a good thing. Let it air out and try workin it thru some more.
Roots are just as beautiful as flowers. More isn’t always better, it’s not root mass that matters because roots only absorb water and ions thru root tips. That is why rock wool works so well, extensive air pruning forcing multiple root tips. Maximizing higher level plant functions comes down to timing. Do what the plant needs when it needs it in the amounts that it needs, easy right?
