When life hands you lemons... #alkalize and #detox your worries away 💪
Lemons are acidic in their natural form, but add them to two cups of lukewarm water and they become alkaline-forming in the body. Alkaline foods #reduce#inflammation and also help the body cleanse and release toxins & excess weight. Adding more organic greens to your diet also helps speed up this cleansing process and raises your body's ph to an ideal 7.

If you want to avoid all of the chemicals in regular store bought lotion, I recommend you try this! I recently went through my entire bathroom again to get rid of all of the store bought lotions with bad chemicals and I was very sad to find it was a bunch of them!
So rather than guessing, making your own is a great way to know exactly what is inside and touches your skin plus it'll definitely be cruelty-free!
This recipe is not difficult to make. If you click the link in my bio you will be able to buy all of the ingredients I bought to make this (there are a couple of options for some ingredients). I know - buying bulk ingredients in packaging is not completely Zero Waste, BUT the ingredients last so long and you can create so many Body Lotions/Butters with this, that you will be saving waste. If you do have a bulk shop around you, check out if they have these things in bulk, I had no luck so I had to go online for it.
Here are the ingredients needed:
Equal parts of (try 1/4 cup to start with in the beginning):⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Shea Butter
- Coconut Oil
- Cocoa Butter (if you like the smell of Cocoa, otherwise leave out and add double shea butter)
- Sweet Almond Oil
- 5-10 Drops of Essential Oils of your choice
Melt all of those ingredients over a hot pot with hot water (so not direct heat) and then once melted put it in the fridge for 1 hour. After 1 hour take it out and use a hand mixer to whip it for 5-10 minutes until it has the consistency of whipped cream and then add any essential oils you might like. Again click on the link in my bio and then on the list for the Body Butter Ingredients to see an example of the things I bought!
Have you guys tried making your own lotions before? If so what are your favorite ingredients?

Meal prepping is one of the best ideas I’ve finally come around to implementing in my life! Although I just started, I can easily see just how beneficial it is. I can’t wait to share what I learn! Today’s lunch was a honey mustard chicken salad! 👅🥗
I used @primalkitchenfoods honey mustard to marinate the chicken. Tossed it with romaine/spring mix, carrots, cucumber, & a dollop of habanero mango hummus.
Sooooo yummy! So, do any of you meal prep? What’s your #1 tip? ⬇️🤩
Figs have a 55% natural sugar content - making them the sweetest fruit of all. Who would've though, huh? Add a couple to your next brekkie bowl for added morning energy (we know we need it). 📸: @thebeautychef

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
We took some time away to replenish our souls in the mountains outside of #asheville. We had very little reception, and were able to remain present and truly take in these moments in time. This is a shot of #lookingglassfalls, one of the many stops on our list. Hopefully looking at this and reading this post will remind you to get out and explore. Put down your phone from time to time. Remain present. These moments are all we have.... and life is short. 💚🌲🌳⛰
There are so many important Georgia races that are tied––the Governor’s race, some legislative districts, and some statewide offices like seats on the Public Service Commission.
Your vote can make the difference and set the course for a new, better direction for Georgia. Polls in EVERY Georgia county will be open this Saturday, October 27!
Make your plan to #VoteEarly today!
Rainbow Rollers 🌈 super stoked to have more color in my rollers so I can differentiate more easily 😂 I finally made a new immunity blend using the yellow bottle! Recipe is in the last post, except I forgot Clove and R.C. 🤷🏼♀️
It is by giving warmth and affection, by having a genuine sense of concern for others, in other words through compassion, that we gain the conditions for genuine happiness. More important than being loved, therefore, is to love.

If you couldn’t tell by now I have a thing for neutrals!
I’m debating on trying the fall 10x10 challenge🍂
If you haven’t heard of the challenge, you have 10 days to create outfits consisting of only 10 pieces of clothing. It’s a great way to see what it’s like to have a more curated and minimal wardrobe.
Where do you shop zero waste? 🌿 I just got a DM from someone asking where she can shop Zero Waste in Boston. the three of these. some of the elite in our bunch of oils from the starter kit, haha. after I started running low on my oils form the kit, I immediately needed these three in the largest size possible please!! some of the daily ways I use these three:
thieves on the bottom of my families feet day and night to help support our immunity.
peppermint & lemon usually with lavender as well in the diffuser for my allergies!
peppermint is also used a lot for headaches, applied on our temples!
