On Sundays the last thing I want is to feel rushed, have people hover over you waiting for a table while trying to enjoy my breakfast.
@pier8cafe at Walsh Bay is my happy place where the food is fantastic, staff are attentive and you feel Zen while reading your horoscopes in the Sunday paper.
The menu has changed a bit. The corn fritters and avocado smash are still favourites here. A new addition is the poke bowl which was delicious. And to finish it all off, we had to order the glazed Cronut and Nutella ball. It would have been rude not to!
The most BEAUTIFUL and delicious carbonara. Paired with a margarita and copious amounts of fresh baked bread (which I doused with oil and vinegar). My boyfriend and I have been meaning to stop in and @casatispizzavino did NOT disappoint. A nice spot for a low key celebration (I got a summer job 🎊🎊🎊). Can’t wait to come back and try some other drinks - and their pizza! 😋😋 (also, where can I get one of these sweet oil & vinegar dispensers?!)
Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge at the Wedge wood Hotel has been one of those classic restaurants which I have always wanted to try. We came here for a friend birthday dinner. 🎉🎂🍷 #bacchusrestaurantandlounge
Bacchus has a lovely atmosphere with live piano entertainment, and its service was phenomenal.
For the starter, we tried several appetizers. We voted Foie Gras & Duck Rillette as the most outstanding appetizers. It was a work of art! 🖼🥂It was delicious. It was savory and smooth. #delicious
For the entree, we had Fire Roasted Half Rack of Lamb and Porcini Crusted "AAA" Alberta Beef Tenderloin. They both were delicious. We had Beef Tenderloin 🥩in medium rare on the rare side. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I am a fan of the potato mille-Feuille, so I would say I slightly liked the Beef Tenderloin more than the Rack of Lamb. 😋They both were five-star entrees.
This truly is an award-winning restaurant, the food was outstanding and the ambiance is just as good.
Bacchus is run by Executive Chef Montgometry Lau. 📍It is located across from Court House at 845 Hornby Street. @wedgewoodhotel 📝📝

F is for Fried Chicken. Growing up in eastern North Carolina, we would go to my great grandmother’s house on Sundays after church for lunch. Along with delicious cornbread and fresh vegetables, we would often be treated to unforgettable fried chicken. Years later, I continue to search for and appreciate tasty fried chicken dishes. Last week, I finally had the chance to try out one of Charleston’s most well known spots for southern food, Martha Lou’s Kitchen. Located on Morrison Drive, @marthalous_kitchen_llc may be housed inside of a little pink building, but it definitely serves up some big flavors! I opted for the fried chicken with lima beans, Mac and cheese, and collards, which are pictured in today’s photo du jour. The cozy and snug atmosphere of this restaurant make it almost impossible not to strike up a conversation with neighboring tables, but not much talking will be happening after the plates are dropped off!

TOASTin’ to the warm and sunny weekend with this multigrain sourdough combo 🙌🏻 Nothing beats sleeping in, getting a sweaty workout in at @corepoweryoga and then coming home to make a bangin’ breakfast. My hardest few weeks of work are over (for now), so if you saw my story last night, you know I celebrated at my favorite restaurant in Austin with some kombucha and mac & cheese 😍 Happy Saturday friends ✨
#dEATs: @traderjoes multigrain sourdough slice + smashed avocado + sauteed mushrooms + fried egg + everything but the bagel + red pepper flakes (a 10 min meal!)
I know I post my paleo banana bread muffins just about every other day but that’s seriously how often I make them because they’re so GOOD + EASY 🙌🏼 made this batch the other day with the kids I babysit and not gonna lie, I was a littleeee worried they wouldn’t like them just because they’re not use to dairy free, gluten free, refined sugar free stuff... but I’m happy to report back they were a HIT 🤩 I used my regular recipe but added in a couple tablespoons of coconut nectar for a little extra sweetness (could also use honey, maple syrup, or whatever you have) 😋 I’ll repost the recipe below! .
3 ripe bananas
1/4 cup @bobsredmill coconut flour
1/4 cup nut butter (I used almond this time)
2 organic eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
Few dashes cinnamon
Dash sea salt .
Directions 👉🏼 preheat oven to 350. Line muffin tins (makes 8 larger or 12 smaller). Mash bananas in a bowl (I just used a fork) and then almond butter, eggs, vanilla and mix well. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix again. Spoon batter into lined muffin tins and bake for 25 ish min or until a toothpick comes out clean 👌🏼 we also added chocolate chips on top but that’s optional! I obviously taught them everything they know about banana bread to chocolate chip ratio 😜❤️🍫
