Underneath this railway bridge is a deep gorge - several storeys high. There are no safety rails - Australia take note - and it’s an exhilarating walk across 🌸💜🎶 Some silly people decided it would be a good idea to take their dog over the tracks. Poor thing was quivering with fear. It’s awkward enough watching where you have to put two feet, imagine if you have to think about four 😳
As fall term comes to a close, we say goodbye to our visiting exchange students and wish them luck as they return home. Among these students is Christian Johansson, who will return to Copenhagen Business School to complete his final term. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“The experience of getting to live in another country has been a unique opportunity that really puts one's own country in perspective. My favourite part of living in Victoria, and Canada in general, has been the nature and the people. I love that there is nature everywhere – that the university is surrounded by it, and animals can be seen on your daily walk to class. It gives a feeling of freedom and purity. The Canadian people are very friendly and courteous, and if you ever lose your way in the streets, people will almost rush to help you along.” 📷: @christiandahy#exchangesemester#uvic#gustavson#goldstreamtrestle#victoriabc
Sometimes you just gotta hop on a ferry, make some new friends, climb an abandoned train bridge, and then get pizza to celebrate.
@kylebauman8 also made an unbelievable highlight film of our adventure, hop over to his page to check it out!
Goldstream Trestle on Vancouver Island. This was a short hike about 30 minutes with some steep sections. While the trail is in a provincial park, the trestle bridge is private property. If crossing the bridge be respectful and cautious, it's a long way down 🛤
We hiked to the famous Goldstream Trestle Bridge. Currently inactive so when we got there and started taking pictures, this very hungover girl comes up, had hiked in Birks (Jesus sandals), drops her purse in front of Kaia, and starts stumbling across.
We ended up staying and making sure she didn't splat, then took pictures underneath the bridge cause I'm actually scared of heights 😂 anybody else hike and hate it sometimes?
Also check out the muscles on this one! 💪 Can this count for #StackDogSunday? 🤪
