🇺🇸 THREE NIGHTS IN PHUKET
From Koh Tao we took the boat 🚣♀️ to Koh Samui and then flew 🛫 one hour to Phuket. The Koh Samui airport is a very charming place. It’s all open air and you don’t feel as if you are at an airport. They even bring you with small open buses to the plane.
We stayed at the Patong Signature Boutique Hotel in Patong Beach. It is located close to the nightlife of Phuket but it’s not loud at night. Our room was full oceanfront and the view in the morning was spectacular. The design of the room was grey stone with a bit of wood and had a modern but cozy feel. This is a hotel I would definitely recommend when staying in Phuket.
We took a longtail boat to Freedom Beach to enjoy some quiet time on the beach. It’s only a 15 minute boat ride and so much nicer than Patong Beach. 🌴
The other day we booked a tour to see Phi Phi Island (where The Beach was filmed), Green Island, Khai Nui Island and Monkey Beach.
I didn’t enjoy the tour that much. The boat ride was nice, we were out on the ocean, enjoying the scenery, but the places they took us to were crowded with tourists and shops and bars and I felt sorry for the islands and fish. On Monkey Beach 🐒people were all around the supposedly wild monkeys, but they came very close and didn’t seem that wild to me. I stayed on the boat though as I didn’t want to take part in that.
We also did some snorkeling, but the area was so busy with boats and people that we only saw some coral and hardly any fish.
So instead of taking a tour like that I would recommend catching a longtail boat and going to a small beach like we did on our first day. 🏝
We spent the evenings walking around, eating Indian and Thai food and getting foot massages. Mine really hurt but felt so good in the end.
Personally, I prefer Koh Samui and especially Koh Tao. Phuket is very crowded and therefore touristy and not as relaxed as the other islands. 💕

“When traveling, don't be afraid to take a day off for some R+R. I know it feels like you should pack everything in and make the most of every second, but there are times when you just need to slow down so that you can truly enjoy all of the other moments.” Some important travel advice from @roamingtorelish ♡
We love this photo of @borderlinebackpackers standing at the base of #Uluru - the massive, mystical, rust-red rock rising from the dry ground in the middle of Australia. 🏜 It’s an impressive geological and cultural site that leaves onlookers in awe. ❤️ A must-visit for 2019!
