So it's been a bit hit and miss with getting to the gym recently. And with having to sit down all day in work I decided to get myself back into it and move some heavy shit around. I didn't use my usual program, I just wanted to lift. And lift heavy... Deads were my lift of choice today. As heavy as I could manage and I wanted to see if I could match my 1RM from 3 years ago of 100kg.
Starting with a warm up of 40kg for 10 and then into working sets for 2x5, 2x4, 2x3 2x2 and then 1x1 until I reached failure.
I actually expected to be posting a failure of about 90-95kg. But I didn't reach failure before I reached my time limit... Not sure I would have managed another though... Shown here is a set of 4 at 80kg. My form feels good and the lifts felt strong. There is always room for improvement but I'll take that! And then I managed my 1RM of 105kg!!! I'm over the moon!!! Back remained straight and core strong just a small curve in the shoulders but that could be down to tiredness after the previous sets. Whatever the reason I can work on it and aim for my next 1RM.

Some of us may have certain goals while training in the gym but even if I’m on contest prep or building to improve. I always find it therapeutic. The music, weights, pain and pump. If you feel happy, sad, angry, tired.... go to the gym lol. No one regrets a good workout. Therapy and gym membership in one 😂😂😂👍🏽

Added extra reps to yesterday’s leg workout at the squat rack and it turned out to be more intense than I thought it’d be. I planned on doing 3 rounds of the circuit but could only finish 2. I’m definitely feeling it today.🔥

Paul was on a journey to continue the work he had started. Realizing he had plateaued he needed something to get him over that hurdle. He came to FitNut with that in mind. He had a big trip coming up and wanted to turn heads and drop jaws 😮. Also struggling with a high A1C he needed a low glycemic and a low inflammatory diet. Happy Transformation Tuesday everyone! Actually kind of speechless that I’ve been able to accomplish this much, it’s been one heck of a learning process! Every body is different and sometimes you just gotta listen to yours to get the results you want. I’ve just started a new plan and can’t wait to see how it ends up (already sore af from day 1). Anyway, I could write a super inspirational caption for y’all but the reality of this kind of progress all comes down to dedication. Motivation definitely isn’t the driving factor for me all the time since sometimes going to the gym isn’t the first thing I want to do, but I go anyways because I made a commitment to myself and my health. It’s definitely gotten easier with time as I’ve learned to love the gym and myself. Hope y’all have a great Tuesday 💕
