Love is that which we believe worth fighting for.
How much we are willing to fight for it, how much we are willing to suffer for it and give up for it lets us know how true it really is.
The only love worth having is the one worth fighting for -- because anything short of that just isn’t love.
My love for New Zealand will hopefully grow 🇳🇿❤
“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” - Oscar Wilde ☔️🍂
Every year around this time of year, many people experience a type of depression called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). About 2-5% of Canadians experience severe clinical SAD, another 10-15% experience mild SAD, & 25-35% experience ‘the winter blues’. 🇨🇦
3 years ago I spoke to a doctor about feeling sluggish, tired, and sad during the winter months. At that time I was miserable ALL THE TIME and didn’t know why. I was lethargic and never wanted to do anything; not go to class, not go out with my friends, most days I didn’t even want to get out of bed. I stayed in my apartment for days on end, most of the time not even changing from pyjamas. I ate takeout because I couldn’t bring myself to go out to buy groceries.
That was the first time I ever heard of SAD. At the time, I still thought that it was ridiculous. I didn’t even tell anyone that I had gone to a doctor. But after moving home, and finding myself in such a good place again mentally, physically, and emotionally - I found myself still struggling through the winter months. Despite everything in my life being wonderful, SAD still affects my ability to concentrate, my creativity, and my motivation. As a content creator, I have an especially difficult time in the winter because I am so damn uninspired. This time of year is also when I find myself dealing with toxic thoughts about my body image and my relationship with food tends to crumble. In the summer months, I am outside, running, swimming, PLAYING IN THE SUNSHINE, and I’m exercising everyday. In the winter, I can barely make it to the gym three days a week. In the summer I can easily get up at 5am and have the most productive mornings, in the winter, I find myself struggling to leave bed by 8am - there are still some days that I can’t even make it out of bed.
I am a tropical, mermaid who thrives in the sunshine and warm climates, but I am doing my best to not let my circumstances define me. It’s difficult and some days are better than others, but at the end of the day, I know that with every winter season, there is a spring around the corner. 🌷
I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I’M FEELING (almost) 22!!!!!!!!

NEW BLOG POST (under ‘personal content’) titled: “Let Us Move Past Fear + Anxiety” → mindyonthemove.com (click on link in bio to read). // I’m not fearless – just ask my husband. He knows the degree of my anxiety. He also knows the degree to which I bust my ass off to overcome it. It’s not a fight for the lazy. It’s a fight for the people who want to live their best life. It’s a fight for the people who refuse to remain complacent.
It’s no coincidence I’ve experienced the BEST things in my life due to overcoming fears. What’s the saying? “Life rewards those who work hard at it.” // 🌇📸 by @thedougmichaels taken on top of the A’dam Lookout over Amsterdam #neverstopexploring#borntoroam#staywild#iamtb#femaletravelbloggers

🏮Did you know that Japan has around 5.5 million vending machines with at least one on every street corner?! There are vending machines that sell:
☕️Hot and Cold Coffee
🍚Bags of rice
Theres something thats always fascinated me about Japan, just how differently they live their lives, how convenient everything is for you, how well mannered the people are, how polite drivers are on the road, how safe the streets are...I feel like I’m in an entirely different world when I’m in Japan. But there were so many things I wish I knew before I visited. Theres a post on my site for those of you planning on visiting Japan but if for now, a few essentials for you to know:
🌱Don’t be surprised if waiters hand you your tip back. There’s no tipping in Japan, in fact its seen as a rude gesture and if you do try to tip them, its almost seen as a bribe for them to ‘do better’
🍃 Japan is largely a cash-based society so if you’re like me and rely on card for all your purchases, I would think again and change up some cash for your trip instead...
🎋Japan is a silent country - I know its hard to believe that one of the most densely populated countries can actually be silent but nobody in Japan speaks loudly and nobody screams so for a girl that comes from an asian family that shouts when they speak, it was quite embarrassing and we drew so much unneccessary attention 😭
My time in Central Asia has come to a close, but I’ll never forget all of the things I’ve learned from the last 3 eye-opening, challenging, incredible months spent traveling this amazing region. Thanks to EVERYONE I met along the way -colleagues, fellow travelers, hosts, and new friends - I’ll carry the memories we shared forever. 🇰🇿 🇰🇬 🇹🇯 🇺🇿 🇹🇲 .
So where next? I’ll be revisiting a place I fell in love with before. Stay tuned 😎

It’s no surprise that our packing cubes can hold clothes, but did you know they can fit boots as well? Socks boots are GREAT for packing light, as you can easily fold them over to save space (they also happen to be a huge trend this fall - double win right there.) Swipe right to check out how we worked them into our cubes ❤️ #CompassRoseOTG

Hello from Bangkok! I'm thrilled to be back in one of my favorite countries for #DCBKK 2018 ❤️ It's always so much fun coming back to this conference every year, catching up with friends and connecting with the new. Just one year ago I was here trying to figure our if I would ever launch my Compass Rose product line and I'm so grateful to have achieved that goal this past year 😊 #TravelFashionGirlfirstname.lastname@example.org
After a winter in Berlin, I was beginning to question my sanity and life choices after months of rain and freezing cold. But this summer has seemed literally endless. It was warm starting in April and today I took a nap in the park in a long sleeve tee shirt it was heavenly ☺️☀️
Here's one of my favorite buildings in Kreuzberg 🌈
It’s easy to only see the glamorous side of travelling but this weekend was a definite insight into the less glamorous side, with an involuntary long weekend in St George’s hospital, where the doctors were confident enough that I had malaria to start intravenous treatment for it around 20 hours before the tests (fortunately) came back negative (god bless the NHS). But is it worth it to get to spend time in places like this? 100%
The perfect walk on a lazy Sunday. 🍁 ❄️ •
TIP: buy your groceries before heading to Munds Park. It’ll save you money and give you extra reasons to stay warm and snuggly by the fire! 🍷 🔥 #RichLivingLessSpending#fallforfall#leafpeeping
Anyone else feeling a little moody today?
Being surrounded by so much movement and pressure at home, it was so nice to get away from all of that and relax at the @peacelodgeandwaterfallgardens while being surrounded by nature.
I feel like I’ve been a little bit out of touch with my nature side recently. Definitely planning on doing more hiking and camping trips in the near future!
What’s something that relaxes you?

This picture remembers me to the little mermaid, I always wanted to be her when I was a child and watched the movie a thousand times! My vision as a child wasn’t wrong, I still want to be a mermaid and live next to the ocean 🧜♀️
What is your dream place to be?
Side note, Jens was pushing so hard to get this shot @envy4lens 👏
