A cold hike, but a beautiful one nonetheless ✨. It’s funny to think not that long ago, hiking was my absolute least favourite activity, no joke. 😳I despised it, every bit of it felt like torture, until I reached the top. Which eventually became satisfying enough that I willingly put myself through the discomfort of hiking simply for that feeling of accomplishment. I might even say that I now take pleasure in the suffering (cardio is like torture to me 😂), because I know how good I will feel afterwards. Point of my anecdote is: just because you don’t like a certain sport or activity today, doesn’t mean you will never learn to enjoy it. Sometimes you just need to push through a little bit of discomfort to see magic happen 💫.

The yogic practice of satya (truth) focuses on carefully choosing our words so they do the least harm and most good.
Speech is perhaps the most human of all our activities.
The world's great spiritual teachings all acknowledge that what we say has profound power to affect our consciousness. Right Speech means speech that is nonharming and which has the intention to support all living beings. In the Yoga Sutra (Chapter II, verse 30), Patanjali presents to yoga students the concept of satya (truth) as a similar teaching. But he offers a slightly different slant. Satya is one of the five yamas, or restraints, that practitioners are to incorporate into their lives. (The other four are ahimsa, nonviolence; asteya, nonstealing; brahmacharya, sexual continence; and aparigraha, noncovetousness.) Because satya is presented as a yama, Patanjali's teaching on the subject has mainly been associated with restraint rather than with action—with what we should refrain from doing rather than with what specifically we should do. the practice of satya is about restraint: about slowing down, filtering, carefully considering our words so that when we choose them, they are in harmony with the first yama, ahimsa. Patanjali and his major commentators state that no words can reflect truth unless they flow from the spirit of nonviolence.
Tonight I’m celebrating these 2 amazing women! .
Our company offered an incentive this summer, and the reward is a trip to Disney! This week, both Lisa and Jen won the trip! They are both remarkable women and incredible leaders who have been coaching many others in reaching their health goals. Lisa and Jen have both been creating successful businesses - offering health and wealth solutions to others, supporting their cleansers on their journeys, and motivating everyone to be the best they can be.
Congratulations Lisa & Jen! 🎉
I can’t even express how happy I was to see this beautiful lady today!!! She literally made my day by coming to workout with me and whole bunch of other ladies!

Do you ever “alternate” your showers? 🚿 •
I’ve been doing this for a couple months now, and there’s definitely something to it. I don’t take straight cold or straight hot showers. The key 🔑 is to alternate hot 🥵 and cold 🥶 DURING your shower. •
I like to start off hot, then cold, then hot, then cold before I get out. This WAKES you up, no question about it. Trust me, it’s uncomfortable, but it’s worth it for your health and vitality 💪 •

If you go to the gym my guess is you’re familiar with the seated or prone leg curl. If that’s all you’re doing for your hamstrings then I suggest you get off the machines, grab yourself some free weights and try this exercise - Romanian deadlifts.
This exercise is great for strengthening and toning the hamstrings. Unlike leg curls, the Romanian deadlift also works other muscles including the glutes, core and lower back (more muscles worked = more fat burned). To perform this exercise, hold a bar or dumbbells at hip level. Lower the bar by pushing your butt out, while slightly bending the knees (just enough so they’re not locked out). Done correctly, you should feel a stretch in your hamstrings. Once the bar is just below your knees, return to the starting position by driving your hips forward and squeezing your glutes at the top. A great analogy for these instructions; bend and snap.

A throwback to @cotopaxiquestival! Go check them out because it is an amazing experience. This Fall we did it as a family and it was so cute watching my kids comb over the challenges and push themselves outside their comfort zones. I’m very glad we had this opportunity to try something new (as a family) and create lasting memories.

Reason # 94,000+ why I love my 💁♀️Online Shopping Club 🛒🍃!! This week’s collective reading, we have three cards: The Sun, 3 of pentacles and The Mother.
This speaks to a powerful uplifting energy that is present (Venus just came outta retrograde) that wants you to put yourself first and find a new deeper connection with yourself by expanding your awareness. This might be through acquiring a new skill, reading a book/article or an online/in person course of study etc. The Mother is all about unconditional love for self, nurturing, patience and giving birth to your unique expression through whatever medium you choose. (Needlepoint, woodturing, singing, styling, painting, weaving, poetry etc)Bask in your inner glory and get out and have some fun learning new stuff...and to all you perfectionists (me included) getting it right first time or getting High Distinctions is not the point, it truly is about letting your hair down and exploring life. The decks I used this week are: Caroline Myss’s Archetype Cards and The Destiny Tarot by Jane Struthers (my first tarot deck)Dinosaur earrings by the lovely Cally Winfield #tinytarot#weeklyreading#tarot#carolinemyss#archetypes#sun#threeofpentacles#mother#nurtureyourself#bepatientwithyourself#getcreative#getoutofyourcomfortzone#expandyourawareness#expansion#upskill#havefun.

Researchers suggest that apart from wearing clothes to enhance our mood, people also wear clothes to improve or mask emotions.
According to studies, dressing well stabilizes and improves quality of happiness, reducing the risk of depression.
So if you want to improve your attitude and take on the day with a better mindset, try to put a little more time into picking out clothes that help you feel the part!

Changing your point of view about things is essential !
Tip from me:
Want creative thinking?
Do not settle for sitting in one fixed place. Do You know that Situation: you are entering a class (in the studio or in school), you have a place and all the year you sit in the same place.
So ... DON'T!
#tbt with @ladygaga I was late to see A STAR IS BORN with Bradley Cooper last weekend but I was absolutely floored! Rarely does a movie make me believe in the characters (and break down in tears). Living in this city, I’m usually scaled back, thinking about makeup and lighting and camera angles. This movie drew me in. It has its own soul. Lady Gaga is a phenomenal singer but also a talented actress. And Bradley Cooper... can sing! Wow! Perhaps my favorite thing about this movie is that people stretched themselves beyond their “labels.” Singer. Actor. As a young child I wanted to be a writer/poet first, then an actress, singer or pianist, gymnast or dancer. None of those opportunities were in the works for me. Instead I was a scrawny, dirty rejected girl with a crooked bowl haircut, wearing tank tops from the flea market. People would ask whether I was a boy or a girl. Once out of sight I would double over and cry. My stomach would clench so hard that I thought I would vomit. How was the person I was in my heart so different than what I looked like? Many years and lots of healing later I am closer to self actualization. Perhaps that is why I love to make people feel better about their appearance, so that their outside matches who they are in the inside. Yes I am a doctor, and I LOVE being one, but my heart is bursting with desire to stretch and grow, so that I am that and more. Getting out of my comfort zone is something I try to do daily. Watching this singer and actor stretch beyond their labels has inspired me to no end. We all have limitless potential. We must let go of our fears—mostly fear of judgement—so that we can blossom as a person. #getoutofyourcomfortzone#ladygaga#bradleycooper#astarisborn#inspirationalquotes
