Sometimes you find more inspiration in a galleries private collection rather than what they have in their show. Yesterday we had the privilege of getting a private tour at @shin_gallery and being able to look through their collection we saw some really incredible work. I think sometimes I lose that spark of creativity that all artists rely on to produce new pieces but all it takes is a day looking at art to feel inspired and ready to create again. Stay tuned for some new work this week!
Reposted from @elbearrito - One of my new favourites after pleasantly stumbling upon it on a trip to Rome's MAXXI. A work that is deceptively minimal before it ultimately proves it is anything but. Black and white, with satisfyingly measured lines, and sentences that strike the perfect balance between axiomatic and just a little bit elusive. A mesh of culture and land, of space and time, lines and words, until you are inevitably drawn into what it is telling you (be patient, always be patient) - and if you look for long enough, it is telling you that you are the space you have always been missing, that you have always been searching for.

Went gallery hopping the other day after getting some recommendations from @galeriereporter. Isn’t that a cool thing about Instagram: sharing and getting inspiration from friends and total strangers (or strangers who have become acquaintances or even insta-buddies)? Anyways, that’s how I ended up at Waddington Custot where I saw these colourscapes or ‘puddle paintings’ by Ian Davenport. On photos 1 and 2: Mirrored place, 2017, on 3: La Cra, Harvest (After Van Gogh), 2018.
