Advocacy goes beyond elections – stand up for what you believe in even after you cast your vote! With the celebration of Veterans’ Day on November 11 & 12 and the upcoming Transgender Day of Rememberance on November 20th, this is a great opportunity to learn and have a dialogue about a trans vet’s experiences. Happening tomorrow!

Let’s explore this blue planet! Our children are the future explorers, conservationists and leaders of the blue planet 🌍 and they need to be free to explore, ask, play and question our believes in order to be the drivers for change we need them to be. #sdg14#blueplanet#youngexplorers#explore

Congratulations to all of the girls who participated in the @girlsontheruncaparea 5K running event this morning.
@girlsontheruninternational is a ten-week program for girls in 3rd-8th grade that helps them develop and strengthen their skills in confidence, character, care, connections, competence, and contribution. There are over 200 councils in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The girls are inspired and motivated by running which encourages lifelong health and fitness and builds confidence through accomplishment. At the end of each season, the girls and their running buddies complete a 5K running event.
These girls are our future leaders! It is so awesome to have an organization that positively impacts and changes the lives of young girls who will eventually grow into empowered women.

Posting a few pics from the WKHS Marching Band awards the other night. Someone earned her numbers for a letter jacket... 2022?!! She made a lot of great friends, she worked hard and learned a lot about teamwork. And that Mello section. What a tight group. #band#marchingband#futureleaders@kilbourne_bands#itsworthit
#WorldDayofRemembrance for Road Traffic Victims was conceptualised to draw awareness to road safety and to ensure that reckless driving is reduced. We also pay homage to those who have lost loved ones and to members of the emergency services who save lives. #WDoR2018#un#unasa#futureleaders

A glorious day for the seeds of our @siafuyouth Corps! The were each awarded rites of passage certificates, some won special acknowledgment plaques, they earned their new uniforms and patches, were gifted #SiafuYouth logo stickers, #SiafuMovement hoodies, and all attendees enjoyed a hot, complimentary meal by #MamasArmy co-chair @ejaearth. They recited their powerful oath, their creed, and made it known how this free program, run on donations only with the support of @communitymovementbuilders , has enhanced their lives, evolved their outlook, helped them to find their calling, and given some of them father figures and role models who challenge, encourage and inspire them. THEY are our #futureleaders! Spectacular job bringing the ceremony to life, Mama's Army's own @qeen_sense, the man with the plan (and financial literacy to make it happen) @kamau_franklin, and The Chief @whohetalkingto. And a big major shout out to @ogunbakin_loem, who, even though unable to attend, secured their uniforms, patches, and is one of those father figures the youth mentioned, who powered them through this first year of the program. None of this was possible without you! #PowerToThePeople and love to ALL who have encouraged their children’s involvement, donated, volunteered their time and expertise, and help make this program a success in action!

A natural born leader and anyone who knows Basma, knows what I mean. She is the kind of person that people follow voluntarily. She is only a high schooler thousands of miles away from home, the kids in her group from 12 different countries, she led them. The best thing she did attaching UAE flag to the group's flag. UAE flag was fluttering in Yale streets yesterday. I'm so proud of her and hope she will always get the support and the chance to make her country proud of her. • •
Hope you had a great weekend! We are now going to start introducing our impressive lineup of Swedish PYs. First out is Alexander Annerberg, an 18 year old student from Dalarna. Alexander or Alex as he prefers is the youngest participating PY in the Swedish Delegation. // What made you apply for SWY//
"It seems like such a unique experience! I have always been interested in exploring the world and meeting people from all corners! Swy is the perfect place for someone like me. //What do you want to teach other countries about Sweden?// "I am very interested in the environment and sustainability in different ways. Swy seems like the right forum to share and learn new things in this area!" //Three strengths you possess//
"Open-minded. Fast-thinker. Always Optimistic" //What is your strange craving?//
"Periodically I eat huge amounts of almond paste!" Stay tuned for the rest of the Swe PYs!
