Yesterday’s dinner. 😃 .
Beef sinigang. .
We decided na huwag masiyadong kumain na ng karne. Siguro mga once or twice a week. Depende kasi pag may sabaw like sinigang or nilaga, ulam na namin yun the whole day. 😀 Lalo na pag morning shift si mister breakfast at dinner lang siya kumakain dito bahay parehas sila ni Sasha. Ang niluluto ko nlng ay dinner tlga at madalas hindi din nauubos kaya pwede pang ulam the following day. 😀😀😀 .

Struggling to get through the Scientific Method with my daughter, I decided to do actual experiments at home, one of them involving germinating seeds 🌱🌱🌱 We had munggo, red beans, and a small white sitaw bean which I had never used before 🤔🤔🤔
As fate would have it, that’s when I learned more about @mesanimisis and @juanayupangco’s advocacy to raise awareness about the health benefits of our local vegetables 🌿🌿🌿 And on her website there was, not one, but three recipes using sitaw beans!! 🎉🎉🎉 Here’s one of them...
#MesaNiMisis Sitaw Seed Curry ❤️❤️❤️ I’ve served it atop a grain mix of red and black heirloom rice and adlai 🍚 The original recipe was topped with alukon, but I didn’t have any so I used talbos ng ampalaya...added a splodge of natural yogurt, a dusting of bubuk (a toasted coconut condiment from the Tausug), and green onions 👌👌👌
I added the raw beans (in the jar) and the plain cooked beans (in the bowl) so you can see the difference 😊 Swipe for closeups! 🙌 The boiled beans can be used in a ton of different preparations: tossed in a salad, sautéed with garlic and tomatoes, cooked into any bean stew you want (chili con carne, fabada, lentejas, even a munggo guisado version!), even whizzed into a dip or spread 👍👍👍
Food advocacies have always been close to my heart and @mesanimisis is a truly admirable one! 🌟🌟🌟 Check our her website to learn more...and get great ideas for cooking local veggies!! 💚💚💚
Feline fine with today’s #yumboxlunch. I tried to make it look spooky in preparation for Halloween, but it just came out looking cute. Lelz 🐱🐭 .
I will be sharing a simple video tutorial on how I made these cute pizzas in the coming days.
Side note: there is no need for pizza crust. 😉 #nikkimbento
I saw Lotus biscuits and turned them into cookies. They were addictive!😋👌🏻 The cookies are crunchy on the outside, but amazingly chewy on the inside. These are flourless cookies, so the taste of the Lotus biscuits will really shine.✨
Please visit my blog for the recipe.☺️

October is Filipino-American History Month and I’m reminded that I have so so much more to learn. This year I’m finally in a place where I’m feeling like I have the space to start uncovering and understanding my roots. If anyone has any readings/articles/facts pls feel free to drop them in my inbox. Thank you in advance 💜✨🌿
