✨ C A P S U L E W A R D R O B E ✨
Over the last few months, I’ve become really interested in the idea of intentional living. One of the ways this has shaped my daily life is through my clothes. Taking a simple approach to your wardrobe doesn’t mean reducing it to five black tops and some jeans (although if that’s your style, I’m not here to judge!).
Today on the blog I’m going to show you guys how you can start to put together a basic, budget-friendly and unique #capsulewardrobe. It only takes 5 easy steps:
1️⃣ Assess your current wardrobe.
2️⃣ Sort your clothes into keep and donate piles.
3️⃣ Pick a color palette - mine are 💛💙
4️⃣ Settle on how many pieces you want in your wardrobe. I would recommend 50 pieces as the maximum.
5️⃣ Add additional pieces you don’t already own. Visiting thrift stores is my favorite way to add pieces to my wardrobe that are from higher quality brands than fast fashion retailers.
That’s literally it! It’s not as intimidating as it seems, I promise 🙈 For more inspiration and an in-depth walk through on how to put your own capsule wardrobe together, swing over to the blog 💃🏾
The algorithm is probably going to hate me for posting at this time on a Saturday, but I guess I'll also find out who else is online?
Some weekends are for exploring and others are for getting caught up on client work, admin tasks, and creating new content for all of you.
I have a question: Do you work for yourself? If not, have you considered freelancing? Would you want to one day? Some day? Is a lifestyle like the one I've built something you dream of too?
Because if it is, I want to first thank you for following my journey here! And if freelancing is one of your long-term goals, I'd love to learn how I can help. A while ago I asked on my stories if you'd like to know where I started in all this. I'm working on that for you now, but I need some specifics! Ask me questions in the comments, DMs, or even send me an email if you have a few.
And if you're just here for the pretty pictures, this waterfall was one heck of a view... 📸 @fourth_wiseman

My pregnant sister in London has been having an intense and specific craving for tootsie rolls—I have spent most of today scouring Duane Reade and delis looking for them, and in the process I’ve learned a lot! First, which will come as a surprise to no one, not only have most of the common bodegas closed, but the few that remain try to cater to higher-end clients, with a lot of European chocolates. Duane reade has tons of tootsie pops, but no tootsie rolls that I could find, along with every KitKat, Reeses pieces and snickers known to man. I finally found them at the place I should have thought of first: @economycandy! During the day I googled tootsie rolls, and discovered that they were born in Manhattan, created by an Austrian immigrant around 1907. They were America’s first individually wrapped penny candy, apparently, and while I found a website claiming that 64 million of them are made every day, their popularity in their hometown seems to be declining. In any case, thank you, @economycandy! I don’t really eat candy but I do love your incredibly charming, old-fashioned shop that reminds me a candy shop near Eastern Market in Detroit we would visit when I was little. I was glad to have a reason to visit you today!

The Florian opened with two simply furnished rooms on 29 December 1720 as "Alla Venezia Trionfante" (Venice the Triumphant), but soon became known as Caffè Florian, after its original owner Floriano Francesconi. The Caffè was patronised in its early days by notable people including the playwright Carlo Goldoni, Goethe and Casanova, who was no doubt attracted by the fact that Caffè Florian was the only coffee house that allowed women. Later Lord Byron, Marcel Proust, and Charles Dickens were frequent visitors. It was one of the few places where Gasparo Gozzi's early newspaper Gazzetta Veneta could be bought in the mid-18th century, and became a meeting place for people from different social classes. #caffeflorian#venice

Our trips will get you out of your comfort zone and feeling some type of way as you explore, dance and maybe even sing your way through Havana. Maybe it's just that Cuban magic ... or maybe it's the mojitos. Either way, we won't judge. || @johnphilp3 for #elcaminotravel
A picture from the Seine quay. •History: This road which was in 1829 the "departmental road No. 75" was formed in wharf after the construction of the Ourcq canal and the impoundment of the basin of the Villette. It takes its current name in 1857 and is classified in the Parisian road by a decree of May 23, 1863.

Sashay-ing to the weekend liiiiike....know your worth - then add tax 💸 *
first week back at work is done ✔️ I was so nervous about taking time off this summer. I had all the real freelancer fears about losing out on money, becoming irrelevant and the ever growing workload upon my return. Turns out these were mostly just fears. Clients that wanted to work with me as Brand vs. a “statistic” were happy to wait until I was back at work in August. Despite turning down a lot of work I still hit my monthly target two weeks into the August. And as far as irrelevancy is concerned YES my engagement has dropped on instagram as a result of not putting in as much time on the app (despite my content being the same quality) but at the cost of my mental health and giving myself some time away for myself and RL - it was worth it.Back on the treadmill with renewed energy! *
