#MeatlessMonday my #vegetarian colleague has been raving about @buddhabodai and has been ordering for delivery at least once a week. Last week she ordered the vegetarian #chicken General Tso's and it smelled so good from at least 30 away that I craved it the whole day. As a result I had to finally try this place, which was packed with non-Asians because it was also #Kosher. So I immediately ordered this dish which is supposed to serve 2-4 people for $14.95 and brown #rice was an extra $2. From the moment the dish arrived on my table it was close to a perfect if not better than the regular General Tso's chicken. The first taste of the dish was remarkable to the point you can't believe that you are eating a vegetarian dish and it was filling. Quick tip, anything breaded or coated with flour should be eaten hot and fresh. Leftovers consumed the next day was good because the sauce was good but the "chicken" was soggy. On our last night here, we got dolled up and performed a necessary act of self-care by ordering half the menu at Safta. Hummus with buttered mushrooms, beets with coriander, lyutenitsa (!), off-the-chain Brussels sprouts; roasted carrot salad, lamb kebabs, roasted eggplant, charred cabbage, fried halloumi. (Not pictured: duck matzoh ball soup; cocktail of mezcal, grapefruit, and Urfa pepper. Everything was stupendous.
