I’ve had my fair share of baklava...this was legit. It is just amazing that I can eat the same flavors from around the world in NYC. A lot of the foods are the real deal if you have the right friends to point the way. It's shameful that after 2 years of living in Shanghai, tonight was possibly only my 3rd of 4th hot pot dinner ever. This one, however, was particularly special because 1) it was at Holy Cow, a very solid and healthy hot pot restaurant, 2) @crystylmo and her @bon.app.eats community supported it, backed by the restaurant's chef Anthony Zhao, and 3) I was able to connect with other like-minded foodies who had a mouthwatering list of new places for me to try in the city. I forget how much I love a good romesco sauce. It's typically a mix of roasted peppers, sometimes tomato, breadcrumbs or almonds, olive oil, and spices. Clearly, here we're doing almonds which I think creates the most amazing flavor. Make the sauce ahead of time, marinate the chicken in some of it, and roast. Serve the remaining romesco on top of the chicken & BOOM - flavor. *

Is it breakfast? 🤔 Maybe lunch? What about dinner? 🤷 The answer is YES! 😁 You just can't go wrong with roasted sweet potatoes 🍠💜 and veggies 🥦(seriously disappointed with the lack of veggie emojis 🙄) topped with an egg 🍳 #putaneggonit Not pictured - the slightly less than photogenic 🥑 that topped it all. 🙊 Happy FriYAY! It's funny because as I was scrolling through my feed it looked as though there was a brief time where I was posting a variety of meals and such 🥗🍠🥑And tried a tiny bit to maybe not post chocolate as much 🤔 ...but then I went back through and realized there is still chocolate in every screen view 😂
