Let's share a little love on this cold, snowy day, shall we? This lady right here with the fabulous decor is Brynn from @shwastyle. She has killer taste, snags all the best vintage finds, and recently completed a sunroom makeover that makes me want to repaint the floors of my own. Go check our her feed. I promise, you won't be disappointed! #followfriday#onetofollow#communityovercompetition
I haven't given much thought to my branding - logo, color, font - because my brand is my work. Many of you won't agree with that approach, but here's why it works for me.
Don’t skip the personality step when you’re branding your business. It’s critical for several reasons.
First, people don’t identify with companies. They identify with people. And the more your brand behaves like a person, the more apt you are to connect.
Second, your followers will come to count on you, and to trust you. Familiarity breeds trust. And people need to bump into you, again and again, and encounter those traits with which they’ve become familiar.
Third, the key to branding is standing out – not fitting in. You need to rise up out of the crowd. You need to be seen and heard. And you do that with an interesting, engaging, unique personality.
Last, your brand needs to be authentic. And authentic people are consistent. They’re true to their values and their own “ways.” If you waffle back and forth – if you change your brand’s personality based on the audience or the situation – your followers will feel it. And they’ll lose faith in you.
What’s your brand personality all about? Share some of your traits or attributes in the comments below.
Did you know I wrote a book...Yup! And I wrote it to help other entrepreneurs understand that life’s pitfalls don’t have to be the death sentence to your dreams, passion and desire. •
Do you know any groups, organizations, high schools, or colleges that would love to speak on these topics?? 👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾 •
If yes then DM me or go to my book website. www.JoyTheKey.com to pre-order my book. It will be available Dec 1, 2018!

Before you ask, this is not some never-before-seen corner of my home (I wish!). No, this magical little nook was created by my clever friend Avery, @hollandavenuehome.
If you don't follow her yet, her feed is a wonderful mixture of thrift finds, homey touches, and impeccable grammar (you know I notice that stuff). I love it!
So, quick! Go give @hollandavenuehome a follow and a double high five for completing that incredible mural on a time crunch!
Just got off a fire 🔥 call with this woman! @charukstudios I’m so grateful to be connected. You guys she is so talented and knows her stuff. Make sure you surround yourself with other powerhouse female business owners who you can bounce ideas around with. She gave me so much clarity on an area I was struggling with. I’m speechlesss! Last time we spoke she said she felt lit after our call and today I feel the same. Go check out her page and like her work! #followfriday#brandphotograhy#levelup#womenbusinessowners#igconnections
Hey, 👋🏾 there it’s me Joy again. I am on this quest to get to know more of you that I see all the time virtually. I’m going to share a little about who I am...and you do the same in the comments below 👇🏾
I ❤️ to learn about people and different types of people. I guess that’s why a desk job never suited me, and maybe why I was fired from my last traditional job 😳, I know how embarrassing but that’s my truth 😏. I always like to ask people what they do and go down this rabbit hole of figuring out how people got to where they are in life. .
I tell you my journey to entrepreneurship was definitely a roller coaster ride and at times even now the unpredictableness of it all still gets me. •
But in these picture I got an opportunity to listen to 12 other women tell their stories and take us along their journey of how they got to where they are. It was amazing to listen and meet so many interesting people. •
It was really nice to meet featured keynote speaker Tameka Montgomery, president and CEO of Core Strategy Partners Inc. and former associate administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Entrepreneurial Development, who spoke about ‘doing business courageously. •
You have to give honor where it is due. And truly these ladies deserve honor. Tell me a little about yourself and what you do or what you would love to do!
It would make our Friday REALLY happy if you got your club members following our account!! Use the stories we created today to encourage them and help us expand our reach! 🎉👍💙 #followfriday#starsofservice
Life is 100% better offline. ✨I spent yesterday making plans for the holidays, connections for my business and socializing with neighbors during a food drive for victims of the California wildfires and focused some time on a little self-care. Working from home, It’s not often I experience so many different types of connection in one day. But logging off and stepping outside allowed for it to happen so I’m making a pledge for at least one day a week to go unplugged. Happy Friday!✌🏻 ✨
🔊“O partigiano portami via,
o bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao,
O partigiano portami via
che mi sento di morir [...]
Questo è il fiore del partigiano,
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao,
Questo è il fiore del partigiano
Morto per la libertà.”
