What is MACRO COUNTING?🍏🐓&WHY DO I DO IT?
Macro counting consists of counting your fats, proteins and carbs, which are your macronutrients; the nutrients you need in large quantities. Counting macros is, personally, more of a reasonable lifestyle than most, allowing you to still reach your goals and allowing you to live your life. It doesn’t have to be looked at as a diet, It’s a lifestyle! Starting out, many people don’t know what foods really fall into each macro, so this is an awesome representation by @jarrettwbond22! 👏🏼
Counting macros is your divided up into percentages. The idea is to meet your daily calorie intake, typically consisting of 40% carbs, 30% fats and 30% protein.
Sometimes macro counting or IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) gets a bad name, because people only showcase the “bad” foods they get to eat (no foods are good or bad btw🙄). To efficiently and maintainably follow macro counting, it still requires discipline. Technically, could you eat 8 pop tarts and the rest plain chicken in a day to fit your macros? Sure. Is that the best idea? No lol. Thinking with an 80/20, or 90/10 mentality is going to get you the best results, physically and mentally. Fitness isn't all about your physical health, but learning to love the process and be happy while doing it. Macro counting allows you to have flexibility in your life, as well as allowing you to reach your goals! I’ve done it for roughly 5 years and it’s the best, most realistic approach in my opinion to make a healthy lifestyle!

I don’t like when people say: „ oh I could never go plantbased“. Well you know... I used to eat meat, diary and eggs for 20 years of my life.
I went trough almost every possible way of eating you can imagine: eating completely „normal“ as a kid, eating rice, chicken, Brokkoli and curd all day long in my early gym phase, eating barley anything and a phase of binging on sweets because I was never satisfied.
Been there, done that.
People always say how becoming vegan helped them with their skin, their weightloss and their physical changes which is true but in my opinion the greatest thing which changed after becoming plantbased is my mindset. I eat as much as I want when I want - no restriction. I don’t think about food 24/7. I feel completely free of any ed thoughts A N D
