Happy earth day earthlings! Check out my story for some tips for today.
I try to reduce my waste each day by bringing lunch when I can, using reusable bottles and thermoses, reusable straws, even reusable ziplock containers.
As much as I don’t want to pressure anyone, a plant based diet also does wonders for the environment. The meat industry has a huge carbon footprint. When I decided to become vegetarian 17 years ago, I had no idea of the environment impacts of factory farming or even what that was! Organic farms have regulations in place to be more sustainable so if you are going to consume animal products, I highly advise choosing organic. Not only is it better for the environment but it’s also better for your body to avoid pesticides, artificial antibiotics, hormones, stress and bad bacteria often found in factory farmed meat. .

Cable pull-throughs are KILLERS for the booty and hammies!! Notice that I am going very sloooowww on the way down. I am thinking about activating my glutes and feeling the stretch all the way down my legs💪🏻
And then notice the quick thrust up to really activate the glutes! And then I hold my glutes tight for a few seconds between reps to really burn them out🔥🔥🔥
Add this to the end of leg days and the bubble butt will come out in no time🏋🏼♀️

Building glutes takes a bit of focused work, just hitting squats probably isn’t going to do it. Versions of this hip thrust are all over our programmes, so ready for those fitted weddings dresses that are coming through this year (or rocking that bikini on holiday!)
It doesn’t matter your shape or size, building your glutes not only helps create shape but also on a slightly more boring size helps keep you strong and less likely to get injured.
It really is win - win - win!

T-1 week until I say I do. So thankful that 5 years ago I found my jam, my groove, my stop all the shit excuses Jenn or whatever you want to call it.
So glad I finally YES to my health, YES to commitment & YES to putting me first! For the first time in my adult life I didn’t have to crash diet and exercise to lose weight for an upcoming event because for the last 5 years this has been a lifestyle for me, a non negotiable.
No more hamster wheel ever for this chick. Just good ole fashioned put in the work get the results 👊🏼

Took this pic after my workout yesterday morning which was a last minute decision as a laid in bed awake at 5:30 am. I promised myself if I woke up early enough I would go to the gym and so that’s what I did. It was a good workout with a warmup and cool down on the tread and some circuits but this FIGHT caught my eye as I was leaving. I’ve been at everybody fights for awhile now and I love it and it’s funny how every class is modeled after a boxing fight with rounds and everything. But every time we say FIGHT I don’t think of fighting another person, I think of fighting for me. A healthier me. A more athletic me. A happier me. A less anxious me. Every day is a fight to make healthy choices. Obviously I don’t make every right choice all the time and that’s okay. But I like fighting for my goals to keep my weightloss going or at least maintain (within a 5 pound spectrum) another thing I have been thinking of lately is that I don’t want my wedding to spiral me into an obsessive eater/exerciser. Obviously I want to look good on my wedding day and that will be a motivation but obsessing over eating and working out would definitely be detrimental to my mental health and honestly my progress. I just want to maintain what I’ve been doing. No restrictions. Just small choices everyday leading me to my end goals.

Now it’s getting warmer out I’m less in the mood for morning porridge. I like overnight oats for when I’m in a rush before training, make it the night before and then can eat on my way out the door (yeah, okay that’s not recommend 🤷♀️ But life isn’t perfect eh!)
Packed with protein and keeps me full for hours! Summer winner for me 👌
One year ago (yesterday) I finished my 80-day journey.
When I think back to that program, I cannot help but be thankful.
It was hard. It took discipline. It took dedication. And it took heart.
There were so many days in that journey that I got criticized for being so strict, or for not eating this and that.
But you guys, those 80 days changed my life.
They changed my physical appearance and I got in the BEST shape of my life.
They changed my mental health, I was more positive, up-beat and motivated.
It changed my business because I was showing the work being done, and that it does get results.
Heart. Hard work. Grit.
You got it? You ready?

Getting there!! Trying a new post workout pose- what you you think?
Everyone wants to know the “secret sauce” to achieving that “toned” and muscular look. The truth is, that toned look is the body building muscle and burning fat. One of the best ways to do that, resistance training. Why? Because resistance training breaks down muscle tissue which allows you to rebuild it after you workout, making you stronger and be able to gain lean muscle tissue. However working out is half the battle.
You can’t just simply rely on resistance training for 30-60 min and that’s it. What you do AFTER training is crucial for results. Ensuring you’re fueling your body with protein to start rebuilding and carbs to help refuel the muscles “gas tank” is a key process along this step. This is one that I often find people are missing out on. That’s why I take a fast acting aka hydrolyzed protein and carb post workout to immediately start the rebuilding process. Doing the thing you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has passed.
It’s hard right?
The problem is that often we start doing things for the wrong reasons so it is much harder to stick to. When you “why” is fully and authentically you things are much easier.
Want to build muscle?
Want to lose body fat?
Want to maintain?
Want to get flexible?
Want to get really strong?
They are all totally achievable goals but take commitment to get from A to B and honestly sometime you won’t want to do the work. That is totally normal! But when the goal comes from a place that is all you its much easier to just get it done when those obstacles come your way.
But commit to exactly what YOU want to achieve, not what you think others want of you.

I love that my gym travels with me! I enjoy lifting and moving my body in different ways than just getting on a machine.
I know others enjoy that and there’s nothing wrong with it. But, I truly love challenging myself and doing moves that are more challenging because I believe that’s where change comes from! Switching it up!
When I travel I may not have all the tools (weights that I actually want) but I can always modify to get a good workout in! And again my gym goes where I go!

Whew! This body is testing me slowly lmao. Every week there’s a new challenge. But I’m slowly getting there. Motivation isn’t slowing down. I’m still in this thang 6 days out of the week. Allah help. 😥
BACK TO BASICS
I have been a little MIA on the social media front recently. A little break and some time at home with my parents last week meant the phone was away and I had some real world time.
Anyone else ever feel like you need that down time?
Anyhooo I’m back! And today we have a back to basics exercise hitting those glutes 🍑
Today I did a double header! Two workouts! Am I crazy?!?!
Nope, I have my reasons -
1. I missed my regularly scheduled workout yesterday ONLY because I got to do a super fun LIVE workout with my team instead!
2. I wanted to catch back up with the rest of the people in my group doing this program. It is so fun to be doing the same thing together, and helps hold us all accountable! Basically like a group fitness class, but I don't have to leave my house!
3. Both of the workouts were only 30 minutes. So combined, I still spent less time working out, than I used to spend wandering around a gym without a plan, or mindlessly running (let's be real - walking swiftly) on a treadmill for an hour and a half....
See? Why wouldn't I do two workouts? Duh.

For those of you who work closely with me, you know I’ve been reflecting on my ideal client and where I really thrive in my nutrition career. I’m a go-getter and I love to work with like-minded, motivated clients who are ready to do the work and get results. I’m also a young, female entrepreneur who loves supporting other women. So who is my dream client to work with? BRIDES!
After developing a bridal program on my own, I came into contact with Bells & Barbells, the only bridal gym IN THE WORLD. It was a match made in heaven! I’m thrilled to my merging my nutrition services into their fantastic workout program and see the business blossom.
And to answer your burning question: NO I am not moving to Dallas. I will be working remotely on this new venture and visiting the Dallas area more often. Exciting things are in store, so stay tuned!
I’ve hated my body for as long as I can remember. I truly cannot remember a time when I felt confident in how I looked. I can, however, remember how young I was when I had my first negative thought about my body. I was in 6th grade. 11 years old. LIKE WHAT???⠀⠀
I really started working out when I got to school at UofI. Why? Because I didn’t want to gain the dreaded “freshman 15”. Not to be healthy, not to get stronger, but to stay exactly the way I was. For years I started workout programs but never finished them. I never fully committed myself to my fitness journey because I just didn’t know how. ⠀⠀
Then last summer @natalielynchfitness came in the picture and I joined one of her boot camps. She completely transformed my life and made me move from hating myself to being able to share a photo of my body in a sports bra on social media. I will forever be grateful to her for helping me in a way I never knew I needed. ⠀⠀
I knew that I wanted to help people the way that she helped me, which is why I’m SO excited to say that I’m now dedicating my time to helping other women commit to their fitness journey by giving them the resources they need to see results they dream of while gaining confidence in their bodies and becoming BFF’s with other women going through the same thing. ⠀⠀

Ring twins ❤️. My mom is truly the most selfless person I have ever met. Il admit that when I do something for someone else, it sometimes is for selfish reasons. For acknowledgement, or for future favors. My mom truly helps people to help them, no matter how busy she is or how inconvenient it may be. I am so grateful for growing up with her as a role model, and as soon as getting married became a discussion, I KNEW I wanted a matching ring. Michael did good, he knew how much this meant to me 🙌
