So.... this month I’ve decided to sign up for a half marathon! 🎉 As soon as I pressed “confirm” on the registration page I immediately thought to myself « What have I done?!?!?? » 🙊😂
It’s exactly 14 weeks away and I would love to hear any tips, strategies or race plans that you think would be helpful! 💓
We talked about anger, joy, sadness, God’s love, my love, failures, heaven, dinosaurs, why bad people are in this world and the baby in my belly.
We shed a few tears, I prayed under my breath asking God for wisdom, I called Alex in for reinforcements and I reminded her of how special she is and how grateful I am for her. .
This trip was about so much more than seeing the #nationalparks it was about connecting with these little people. It was about loving on our friends and pushing ourselves physically and mentally. It was about seeing God’s hand in creation and realizing how tiny we actually are. .

I found this vintage mailbox at a barn sale a few years ago. At the time I thought it would be fun to leave my daughters letters in the mailbox periodically. I know I still cherish notes from my mom to this day. Unfortunately it didn't take long for important mail to take over the mailbox. I think it's time for that to change though and to get back to my original plan. 😉

for years I thought I didn’t like zucchini but turns out I really, really do. 😋 zucchini noodles sautéed in olive oil with a homemade pesto, feta cheese, blackened chicken, and tomatoes with garlic bread on the side. ✖️ for the pesto I used a food processor. I started off by blending 2 packed cups of fresh basil and 1/2 a cup of walnuts. Then I added 2 cloves of minced garlic (mine were quite large so if yours are smaller I would do 3) and 1/2 a cup of shredded parmesan cheese. Once all of that was blended together I left the processor running and drizzled in 1/2 a cup of olive oil. Once it was the consistency I wanted I seasoned with salt and pepper. You can adjust to taste. If you don’t like as much basil you can sub up to half of it out for spinach. 🌿 It was my first time doing blackened chicken. I didn’t have much time and it’s a major game changer if you are in a pinch. I preheated the oven to 350 and warmed up a pan to the point where it was smoking. Then I just cooked the chicken for about 1 minute on each side before transferring it to a baking sheet and putting it in the oven for another 5 minutes. You may need to halve your chicken so that it’s not too thick. I rubbed both sides with olive oil and a mixture of spices (I did garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and himalayan pink salt today). 🙌🏼 Enjoy!
Celebrating a solo solstice and looking back at the year that was. Today marks one year since being laid off from Etsy, an experience I didn’t expect to rock me quite as much as it did, but... damn. My team and I created something amazing there, and it was heartbreaking to see that project - and our jobs - laid to rest so swiftly. BUT ALSO, without that experience I wouldn’t be here. And by “be here”, I mean Maine. And this beach, getting choked up at yet another cotton candy sky and taking huge deep breaths of salty, briney air just to get it all in. And also I mean HERE: Facing another season of flux and uncertainty and feeling... CALM✌🏼
