Each of us deserves the opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the tiny miracles around us - everything from a flower’s demonstration of resiliency to bloom after a cold night to recognizing how privileged we are when we get to turn on a light before walking into a bathroom with running water. When we slow down and learn to appreciate the small things, we can begin to truly experience and appreciate our beautiful lives. 🙏🏻❤️😊
“Who you are is so much more than what you do. The essence, shining through heart, soul and center, the bare and bold truth of you does not lie in your to-do list. You are not just at the surface of your skin, not just the impulse to arrange the muscles of your face into a smile or a frown, not just boundless energy, or bone wearying fatigue. Delve deeper. You are divinity; the last and open sky of Spirit. It’s the Light of God, the ember at your core, the passion and the presence, the timeless, deathless essence of you that reaches out and touches me. Who you are transcends fear and turns suffering into liberation. Who you are is love.” - Who You Are by Danna Faulds
Also, John of Ephesus puts it beautifully,”There is no fear in love. Perfect love drives out fear.” Transcending fear into liberation through love. I like it. That’s what I want.
Most of my life’s moments these days are filled with indescribable peace. But there are still bits lacking peace that creep in. Like at 3am when I awake to racing heart, all senses alert and on that I’m learning how to bring love in to drive out the fear. How beautiful that the antidote to fear is love instead of strength, will-power, fight, etc.
