So I did 7hours of fasting. From today. I didn’t count from my last meal from yesterday, it would be more.

Nothing beats the satisfaction of stepping on the scale and seeing you’ve lost more weight.
Starting hour 22 of my 24 hour fast and so far this has been so much easier than I expected!! I started the day with some yoga, took my daughter to an indoor play place for kids, came home and napped, then worked on some business stuff! Now I’m just gonna relax till dinner time. It’s been nice not having my whole entire day revolve around food and I’m pretty proud that I had the mentality to make it this far. Let’s see if I’ve got another 2 hours in me 💪🏼💪🏼

This morning I was having particular difficulty with a new footwork combination... and my trainer simply said it was like I was still trying to work around my size and weight. Well. Holy snapping duck sh*t. #cuetears .
OMG. He was so right, and I hadn't realised until that moment that I still can't see how much progress I have made. Some days I can see it and I am super proud of myself and my journey. Most days it still doesn't really register, and I still think like I'm 50+kgs heavier. It's a process. I WILL get there. Anyhoo... didn't eat much yesterday because I wasn't hungry, which means today is breakfast at breakfast time 😛 About 250g of #grassfed beef scrambled with two free range eggs, with a @natural_health_company Skinny Bean espresso with cream (I don't drink it for the "fat burning" - I just like the flavour the raspberry ketones add... 😉😋)

💪 Muscle loss is a common concern to many who are new to fasting. Fasting may offer somewhat of a protective mechanism to muscle loss due to the fact that ketone bodies are muscle sparing. Therefore, increasing production of ketones can help maintain muscle while losing fat. With that being said, any time you are restricting calories to lose weight you are at risk of losing a little bit of muscle. So you need to ask yourself if you’re ok with losing a little bit of muscle while losing a lot of fat. If maintaining muscle mass is a goal/priority of yours while practicing IF and attempting to lose fat then you should highly consider resistance training and protein intake. Studies have been conducted on protein consumption and resistance training and muscle preservation during fasting. A high(er) protein diet (1.2g protein/kg weight) showed more effective than a lower protein diet (1g protein/kg weight) at preserving muscle mass. However, the most effective way to maintain muscle mass was through resistance training, by which they maintained all muscle mass and also showed an improved muscle endurance.
