Dahlia Labyrinth - I broke her off while tagging, so she’s floating. One of my fave pretties.

What a wonderful week helping to rebuild a home in the Houston area. The cameras may be gone but so much devastation remains. This particular homeowner did not have insurance. She received money from FEMA but was a victim of contractor fraud- they took her money and ran. I'm so grateful to Farmers Insurance for this opportunity to give back and thankful that organizations like SBP exist and do not leave until the job is done. Proud of my company and my Farmers family <3 #sbp#sbpusa#sbphouston#sbpspringdalestreet#farmersinsurance#wearefarmers
We have seen so much rain here in #Texas lately and we hope everyone is safe! For the day to day care of your lawn; our guests from @stplandscapes offer the following tips! Please join us on Tuesday for additional information. See bio for show details. Good stuff! 1)Root Problems– Grass needs oxygen to grow, & receiving too much water can produce air gaps in the soil, which can drown and kill your lawn.
2)Fungal Damage– Too much water can cause grass roots to rot & can cause disease (often seen as yellow patterns in your grass; once lawn disease occurs, a lawn diagnosis is needed, and an aeration & over-seed is recommended in the fall.
3)Loss of Nutrients– If your lawn gets too much water, important nutrients are washed away and then cannot be absorbed into the root system. you’ll need additional fertilizer to try and compensate.
4)Poor Root Growth– water puddles resting on the surface of your lawn causes shallow roots. Grass roots that don’t have to go far below the surface to find water can’t handle dry conditions, leading to brown and damaged portions of the lawn.
5)More Insect Problems– When your grass has a shallow root system, the grass becomes stressed, making it much more likely to receive damage from insects and the aforementioned disease issues.
6)More weeds– Heavy rain can cause your lawn to grow many weeds, that are often difficult to fight.
Planning for the future is the best way to counter act this – Ask us for a free quote on lawn care or drainage system that will help combat the rain! .
