Bull Kelp, common along the Pacific Coast of Southern California ——————————————————————————Hwy 1 recently reopened after 14 months of closure near Big Sur. Evidence of the massive mudslide remains. New roads in Gorda and Limekiln State Park were constructed. *It truly is a majestic road trip experience [Pacific Coast Highway, California]
This was our one true sunny day in Iceland. We parked to one of the more secluded areas of Diamond Beach and hiked for a little while until we could go down a little slope to get to the water. We desperately wanted to touch a chunk of ice. We helped each other stand on a couple stones a little ways into the water just for that. One of the things I appreciate most about my friend group (something @claudiadoyle brought to my attention) is their curiosity for everything around us. How heavy is that piece of ice? Is it smooth? Which iceberg did this guy break off of? It’s these questions that make me appreciate every little thing that’s right in front of me.
Visiting The Baths was one of the highlights of this BVI Sailing ⛵️Trip. These gigantic granite rocks on the beach were born of cooling magma although there’s not a single volcano close by. Exploring all the pools, tunnels and grottoes are a fantastic way to spend an afternoon near Spanish Town in Virgin Gorda.
