I took the cheesiest photo the other day: but tbh the Feta was a little hard to photograph. 🧀✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This post is a lot of things. While originally, it was meant to be an appreciation for #NationalCheeseDay — (because some days I’m feeling grate and other days I’m feeling blue) there’s also a lot on my mind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been on the upwards of a struggle in the last while. There’s been so many changes. So much of life. So many goals but life events that also happened that changed things a lot — some for the better and some for the harder. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the meantime, I’ve also been thinking a lot about the “word of the year” and it’s taken me a while to come to it.
I finally did though. And I picked gentle. So this is also my vocal reminder to me: this year, I’m going to be gentle with myself, with my heart, with my friendships, with my business. There’s a lot of hustle and hectic energy that has come with the successes of the past years, but it’s caused a few scrapes and bruises in the process: so this is my reminder to be take a step back, and continue: slow, steady, and gentle. 💕
In the process, I’m going through growing pains and the (sometimes really hard and also sometimes wonderful) realities of I exploring, travelling, creating, and the gig economy. And I’m trying to find a balance between online transparency and also keeping space for myself, my health, and where I want it all to go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And in the meantime of all of this, just like my favourite kinds of cheese, I’m grateful, for all the love y’all always send my way 🧀🧀🧀 (Okay also, unrelated: The Grand Mosque in Oman is absolutely stunning and @farihahah and I had the most beautiful sunrise morning there and this photo makes my heart happy, so I hope it also gives you the kind of peace I felt when I was there too).
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat, Oman 🇴🇲 One of the few mosques open to visitors, you’ll want to get to this one before 11am, and be sure to cover yourself wrist to ankle. Bring a scarf for your head. When you go in, go to the right side for pictures first, and on the left side last. It’s less crowded using that route. 🕌
Flashback to this moment in the middle of nowhere ⏮
I was driving on a road deep in the Sharqiya in Oman when I spotted a Pack of Camels 👀 🐪
Luckily we had rented a 4x4 just for this in case we would have to adventure a bit off-road 🚌
So I started going off-road between the camels as slow as possible to not frighten them and observe them calmly wandering and feeding themselves.
Then I took it to another level and stopped the car and started walking 🚶🏼 slowly towards them.
And of course you know I had to take one for the gram 😜
May Peace be with us 😇
Curious about turtles and their nesting process? 🐢🐢
The Ras Al Jinz beach is the place to be! It is renown for the endangered green turtle nesting (Chelonia mydas) and over 20.000 females return here annually to lay their eggs.
Why don’t you join one of the turtle rangers for a tour? 🐢

I had the most beautiful time today exploring, learning, and growing here in Oman! Even though I did my research before coming, being here in person seriously brings everything to life. One of my first and foremost goals has been to approach new situations with an open heart and curiosity to learn about the Omani culture and then honor it as best as I can. My expectations have already been exceeded and I’ve been blown away by the level of kindness, hospitality, tolerance, and beauty to be found here. Like just look at the grandeur of the Grand Mosque!! Even people of other faiths or simply no faith at all are welcome here and it is seriously one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. I genuinely can’t wait to see what the rest of my time here holds🕌💫
