Muitos degraus pra ver o Diamond Lake 💎

Week Eighty One: New Zealand 🇳🇿
Welcome to the the famous Cathedral Cove 🌊😍 we’d just sea kayaked at 7am from Hahei to get here and landed at this beach when it was super empty ❤️ stunning. Cathedral Cove got its name from the archway or cave there. 🌟 The ignimbrite walls were formed from volcanic 🌋 explosions over 8 million years ago and were easily sculpted over time by weather and tide. 🌈 Many archways, crevices, and caverns can be found underwater and along the beach. On the Western side of the beach is the large archway that made the beach famous. ⚡️
You might recognise this spot from somewhere? 🎥 The tunnel was where the Pevensie children enter the world of Narnia for the second time in the Prince of Caspian film. 🚪 The same location was where Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis filmed the music video for “Can’t Hold Us.“ 🎶 The lyrics from the song are rather ironic considering the eroding archway—“so we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us!” 😂 It’s no wonder this beach has got so much attention from around the world 🌎 it’s SO unique right?! 😍
We’re currently living the dream in a campervan 🚐 driving around South Island 🤩It’s my second time down here and just as beautiful as the first 😭 I’m covering everything with a gazillion stories as always 🤪 and I’ve started a new highlight so come and watch and tell me what you think! 💭 I put hours of work into my stories every week if you didn’t realise lol 😂 on another note HAPPY EASTER 🐣🐣🐣 #CathedralCove#NewZealand 😍

Who’s been adventuring over this glorious Easter weekend? Where have you been, do tell! Mountain tops and hot cups 🙌 #happyeaster#easteradventures
Since finishing work in the Ahuriri Valley and hitting the road I have been doing a lot of hiking to make the most of the South Island's glorious autumn sunshine.
The weather has now turned against me and so I finally have some time to get back to the blog, which you may have noticed I am very behind on, and share some pictures from my favourite hikes! This is an advance warning that there will be a lot of hiking spam over the next few days.
I love the beauty of this area and how much jaw dropping scenic views there are, but by God the people here who own dogs are oblivious. In all our walks here we have had off leash dogs just walk over to Diego who is on leash. Even if I tell them to get their dogs, they do some pathetic half-arsed attempts to call their dogs back which the dogs ignore 🤦♀️🤦♀️ honestly I don't think I could cope with this every walk! Diego has been so well behaved in these instances and usually I just put myself between the two dogs and get my kicking leg up and ready. That seems to make the owners react faster 😂😉 By the way, I love this photo that @kobe_thekiwi_staffy got of Diego and I. I mean come on, look at that lake 😍😍
Oh the life of a seal... .
Kind of reminds me of myself on this Sunday afternoon! Just kidding! I’m actually busy writing some new blog posts and editing photos from my trip to the coast this weekend.
Chris and I originally had a few hikes planned for the rest of the weekend but it is currently pouring rain :( .
Good one New Zealand! Oh well for now I’ll enjoy my seal life before it’s time to get up and go again! .
Anyone else going to join me ?!

You were a lot of things but I never thought you’d ever be gone.
#penguins#southisland#nzmustdo#seals#naturelovers#beach#landscape#ocean#oamaru#newzealand#explorenz#travelnz#nature#outdoors#faune#wild
