I have the hardest time doing anything without an end goal. A run without a plan of when to end. A hike without a destination. A meal without a recipe. A work day without an agenda. I am a planner, so going out without a plan is a challenge for me. My motivation isn’t there.
This hike I had no plan. I had a few lakes in mind, a “cat” trail to follow, and a map with only a few Jeep roads marked. I met each new “trail” wondering which direction I should take...choosing carefully. I would make small goals for myself to get to a tree, or a rock and then decide there if I would carry on or turn around.
I couldn’t help but think about my own life, and how much things have gone off my plan. College, finding love, grad school, marriage...and next kids. This plan was no more. Navigating a divorce after less than 2 years of marriage was not my plan. Starting life over at 31 was not my plan. Moving out of Oregon was not my plan. Putting off having children was not my plan. All of my plans stopped, and I felt lost.
But just like this hike of taking each stretch bit by bit, I’m taking each day and week as it comes. As each new day starts, I find a little bit more of myself. I have found an amazing place to live, with people who have helped me more than I can explain. I have accepted help from friends and family. I have slowed down to listen to myself, and take time when I need it. I may not have an exact plan anymore, but I am taking each new adventure as it comes...plan or no plan.
When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills. - Chinese proverb

As soon as you realized the power is within 💪 you'll stop looking around for solutions or excused to tour problems and you'll look forward because you are be able to do anything you want 😘👊
O quanto antes você perceber que o poder está em você, você vai parar de olhar ao redor buscando soluções e desculpas para o seus problemas e vai olhar para frente porque aí você vai será capaz de fazer o que quiser. 😚😉
The first time I went to lower antelope canyon I was amazed by the beauty of the formations but disappointed with the tour that hardly gave me a minute to just breathe and appreciate my surroundings . So happy we booked the 3 canyon (upper antelope canyon, rattlesnake canyon, and owl canyon) photography tour with @aacpt_302 . @928shooter was such a good guide! He didn't rush us, gave us insight on where to get some great shots, but also let us have the freedom to set our own pace & find our own way through the canyons. Thank you! #navajonation#rattlesnakecanyon#AZ#arizona#slotcanyon#photographytour#naturelovers#neverstopexploring
Waking up to these views. 😍 @villamatilda
Honestly, Italy is always such a dream come true (and not just because you can eat gelato 4 times a day.🍦Although that is part of it 😂). It’s our first time in Lake Como and there are few other places in the world that are so quaint and romantic and where every corner you turn is even cuter than the last. I may have even turned some corners into someone’s backyard to take a picture, but every house is just SO. CUTE. I can’t help it. 😍🏠 #ourtravelpassport
