Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi has two of my favs in its permanent collection: Dorothy Hood and James Surls. James' piece reminds me of the oaks which remained standing on St Charles after hurricane Harvey (also pictured).

Check out screenshots of @maireaddambruch video FLAT EARTH, which will be a part of our exhibition TIMES END opening this Thursday, January 17 at 7pm.
FLAT EARTH is a video that examines a hypothetical dystopian world where higher powers decided to eliminate spatial power dynamics by bulldozing the natural surface of the world into a flat plane. TIMES END, juried by @alishabwormsley, offers futurist views for our society, culture and planet. As our world evolves, we see changes that inspire awe and fear in what is to come. With speculative fiction, afrofuturism, dystopian and utopian visions, artists are often the creators of society’s imagined future. The exhibition continues through March 9, 2019.
