7 years ago today I began my fitness journey, joining @virginactiveuk in Derby. I started out knowing very, very little. My first session I did a 10 mile run on a treadmill. No idea why I was doing it, still don’t know why to this day.
I’ve been on such a learning journey throughout this 7 years, made many mistakes, wasted many a session. There’ve been times where I’ve stalled or even felt like I was regressing, but perseverance is so important. The beginning was easy, newbie gains inspire you to stick at it, you assume you’ll just grow exponentially. You don’t. You have a genetic ceiling and over the years you begin to wonder whether you’ve reached it so many times. But you go back to the drawing board, you try something new and the growth, whilst slower, continues.
I’ve read endless articles, scientific studies, forum posts, listened to hours and hours of podcasts all in an effort to find that something that gives me the edge. I’ve gone from trying to just understand what exercises work which body parts to learning to isolate the concentric movement. Via a very many fad techniques.
Name a supplement; I’ve tried it at least once. Name a dieting protocol, tried it. I’m always using myself as a guinea pig, with varying levels of success.
There’s no end to this journey for me, it’s a lifelong lifestyle because I absolutely love it and I’m excited to see all the stops along the way.
Special thanks go to @ldn_muscle and their guides. They gave me the base knowledge I have built upon. I don’t know I’d have stuck at it without them.
Here’s to the next seven.
At the time of making the video I haven't read the benefits between front and back lat pull-downs.
Based on research the front lat pulldown is more beneficial than back lat pulldown. Also, based on research as well, back lat pull-downs might cause pain on your rotator cuffs and shoulders. Although, I did not feel any pain or discomfort when I did them.
If you stick to front lat pull-downs you'll be just fine and you will get more gains on your latissimus and rear delts.
Sunday reflection 🌻. The hardest part of my fitness journey is eating. and it sucks when I really wanna grow my glutes and look a certain way and no matter how hard I try it seems as if i always fail. Some days I really just look in the mirror and hate what I see. I know I may seem curvy in pics but TRUST ME it took me a long time to even get there. a lot of the times it’s hard for me to eat due to work, yesterday I got stuck at work all day, keep in mind that i work at hooters so i’m burning off hella calories running around all day, and I went all day without eating anything I came home and felt so disappointed in myself. So for next week I told myself that i’m going to get better at packing snacks and managing my time better so I can set out times for me to eat. If any of you struggle w this problem or have any tips please DM me! I would absolutely love the help.

Growing up I always loved the whole crop top look I always thought showing a little bellybutton action was so cute I couldn't wait to grow up and be able to wear the cute outfits I saw celebrities wearing but as I got older I got bigger and that dream of mine just stayed a dream but now I've slwoly been more confident and able to wear the outfits I always dreamed of wearing and honestly it's so great and I know that 8 year old Michelle would be so happy and proud of me now this just goes to show that we should never give up on our dreams even if they are simple like this one of mine.
Reminder that you don’t need to kill animals to reach your fitness goals. -
My favorite protein sources are black eyed peas, beans, tofu, tempeh, quinoa/rice, lentils, @beyondmeat and @gardein products.
I don’t do long juice or water fasts, don’t follow fad diets like keto, low carb, Atkin’s erm paleo or anything weird.
I limit my junk food and do my best to eat Whole Foods. The only consistent supplement I take is a b12 spray though I should do a vitamin D supp and I try to stay hydrated. Anything else is a gimmick IMO.
One way to help with those with dementia is to keep active, here’s our wonderful P.E. teacher Mrs Foster showing some easy exercises which can keep everyone fit and healthy, not just those with dementia! 💫

Today’s 22 class was a lot easier than normal - no burpees or rowers but ALL of the mountain climbers 🏔 What did you think of the class?
What better way to celebrate being able to record again besides some squats with 315? Not at PR but won't let a cut kill the gains 🍑
Sleep deprived, headache, ate first meal of the day (it was 5pm) 30 minutes before.
Moral of the story: No excuses!! While I don't recommend working out completely exhausted, finding your personal boundaries and learning when/when not to push yourself is the key to safe and effective lifting. Listening to your body and training those instincts isn't easy, but definitely worth the effort.
For now, I'll be working on better form with this weight. Definitely having fun with it.
🤔DO I FEEL HUNGRY DURING MY CUT?🤔 -
YES I DO!
But not all the time, only when I lay in bed and want to sleep I start to become hungry again because I don't eat anything after my diner so that sucks, some days it's pretty hard but it's okay, I know my hard work will pay off and once the summer begins I go back to maintenance, I started my cut really early because I want to take my time because I know my body needs time, I will make mistakes, I don't know if my macros and stuff are matching me so that's why I like to take my time so I can listen to my body, try out new things and find my best way to cut. Some weeks I have 2 cheatmeals other weeks 1, I just don't want to be too hard on myself, I want to enjoy things! -
Have a nice sunday!

Have you ever been so proud of someone you could cry? After so many years of knowing @brandonhardbody I’ve gotten to watch him go from the 18 year old who had never left his hometown, to an inspiration to people everywhere. I’ve watched him work harder than anyone day in and out to be a role model and example for so many people who went through the same struggles as him. There’s nothing I love more than getting to watch him live out his dream. Walking into the @alphalete meet up yesterday and seeing his face on this banner was SO special. I couldn’t be more proud of you and your journey ♥️
Thank you SO much to any of you who said hi during the day! Meeting so many of you guys was simply put... the coolest thing ever. Still in shock that any of you even knew my name 😭 Feeling beyond grateful today and every day💕

My lulus ripped in the process of this picture, but it was worth it 🤘🏽
Taking time for yourself, and AWAY from social media/screens is soooo important.
Exploring outside is by far my favorite way to unplug.
Oregon, I love you. 🌲
I’m soooo grateful that despite my doubts and fears, I believed in myself enough to stop settling, and create my dream life.
