"Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice everywhere." #Reverend#MartinLutherKingJr The first and most influential activist I learned about growing up and his #WordsOfWisdom still resonates today with minorities and non-minorities alike! Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Reminding you to remember those who fought the good fight so we can have the opportunities afforded us now and it's up to us to use our voices to fight for #Equality and #Justice for all! ✊🌎
It is not easy to put Martin Luther King Jr. into a few words. The main thing that keeps amazing and motivating us, is the courage this man had to love everyone despite the struggles of his time. His faith in and vision for humanity continue to give us brilliant insight into how to actively and nonviolently build a better world for all. As he so well said: "Forgiveness does not mean ignoring what has been done or putting a false label on an evil act. It means, rather, that the evil act no longer remains a barrier to the relationship." A powerful reminder of the fact that we can still love humanity while fighting for what is just.

Happy Martin Luther King Day! I admire this man so much. He is a hero in my book. As an artist and a proud American, it is my duty (my civic duty) to speak truth from my heart. MLK's words speak truth today. 🙏 We have hard working Americans who are struggling and aren't quite sure how they're going to feed their kids today. Soon, Walmart parking lots across America will be over crowded with American families living out of their cars. Shame on all the Senate Republicans sticking by Trump during this shutdown. Shame on all of you! Trump is destroying our country. He is ruining our reputation, weakening our credibility and our alliances. Americans are divided, but as a nation we must come together. If you have been impacted by this shutdown, check this website out for a number of resources that are available for you, ♥️ We must support our sisters and brothers as they go without a paycheck. ~ Happy Birthday, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.~
Thank you MLK for everything you taught us and did for America and its people. You taught us to stand up against injustice and to never accept the status quo when that status quo is built to hurt others based in bias. You were a voice of peace in a world of fighting, and accused of being a danger for pointing out danger. Bravery can be in all of us, we just have to speak. The good reverend was a man like all of us, we all need to stand up and stand for what he did, for now and forever.
Thank you, sir.
I don't often post on holidays but I felt this is one of the most important ones and is not meant for silence. .
Martin Luther King Jr., an American clergyman and civil rights leader, was MURDERED at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968.
King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest.
MLK Jr.'s words continue to be relevant to today. We still have racist harassing minorities, we still have police murdering unarmed men and women, we still have lack of police accountability, we still have gender inequality, we still lack alot of LGBT rights, and we have an idiot stalling the government over a stupid wall. That wall is a symbol of white supremacy and had nothing to do with immigration.
People forget that MLK was murdered only 51 years ago. Our parents and grandparents lived through the civil Rights era. Segregation was not that long ago and America is NOT a post racist society when we still have racist in office and racist taunting minorities.
Do not come in my comments with any BS. Trump is a racist, Trump supporters are too. You can't be a Trump supporter and try to quote MLK. No opinion is valid if it's rooted in the oppression of another.
HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DAY
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we commemorate those who fought tirelessly for civil rights in this country, and those who continue to fight so that one day King's vision comes true.
My kids have the day off today. I asked my youngest if he understands why he has off today; his reply “because of the snow.” Friends, I felt as if I had failed as a parent in that moment. The good thing is when I ask him if he knows who Martin Luther King Jr is he can answer without hesitation. I then sit him down and have a very matter of fact discussion with him about POC, white privilege, inequality, racism or any other “ism.” How to use his voice to advocate and represent our friends without voices or those who are underrepresented. I pray he hears me well. I pray it shows up in his actions every single day. This will not be our last conversation, but most of all I hope he learns by my example.
HAPPY MLK DAY!!!!!!! Today is the holiday of holidays to me 😍😭. Today, we celebrate forgiveness. We celebrate nonviolence. We celebrate service. We celebrate unconditional love. We celebrate social change. We celebrate equality and human rights. And we also mourn the blatant absence of these things.
If only we paid as much collective attention to MLK day as we do to our nations other (mostly bogus) holidays. 😫. Above are ten of my favorite quotes by the angel incarnate himself✨. Please take time today to listen to some of his speeches. It is impossible to listen to his voice and not be elevated to a higher consciousness. 🙏🏻🙏🏾 Here is my favorite 🌈 “You may be 38 years old, as I happen to be. And one day, some great opportunity stands before you and calls you to stand up for some great principle, some great issue, some great cause. And you refuse to do it because you are afraid…. You refuse to do it because you want to live longer…. You’re afraid that you will lose your job, or you are afraid that you will be criticized or that you will lose your popularity, or you’re afraid that somebody will stab you, or shoot at you or bomb your house; so you refuse to take the stand.
Well, you may go on and live until you are 90, but you’re just as dead at 38 as you would be at 90. And the cessation of breathing in your life is but the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit.” 🌈
Dreams are only Dreams, Action makes them Reality 💯 "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." ~MLK

dedicated minority has made the world better." -Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.”
As we remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr today, let us not forget that the fight for equality is not easy, and it is not over. We must all do our part to uplift those who are torn down, to support those who struggle, to speak for those who are oppressed. We must not settle for convenience or complacency.
We are all a part of the human race. Be kind to one another and look out for your brothers and sisters.
