Trash Talk- Moving toward a zero-waste world by Michelle Mulder, published by @orcabook .
This is just one of six great books in the Orca Footprints series (swipe to last photo to see others). This “trashy” book gives you the history of trash and the creative ways people are dealing with trash now. We need to start thinking now of ways to eliminate the amount of trash we all generate before it takes over and destroys all wildlife. So many people throw out things that others could use and most people buy things every day that are one-time use and cannot even be recycled. Garbage has always been an issue, but not everybody in the past knew how to dispose of it in a good manner. In this book, you’ll also learn how a British inventor named Alexander Parkes created something useful and cheap, but was it really such a great invention? Many sea creatures are mistaking plastic for food (you can swipe to see a picture of the inside of a seabird). Our trash flies or is even thrown into lakes that drain into rivers that then drain into our oceans. “At least one million birds and another 100,000 marine mammals die each year because of plastic.” As they say, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure so inside this book you’ll see the creative ways people have reused “trash” in such creative ways! What have you done to help save the world? We have gotten rid of plastic cups/dishes, we reuse plastic/paper bags for trash bags, we bring our own drinks with us in a cup, we use cloth napkins, and much more. We also donate things that have life left in them. It makes us feel good knowing we are helping the planet but there’s a lot more we can do and my goal for this year is to be more conscious of what I buy, buy less, use what I have and when I do buy something, really give it thought before bringing it home. Together we can all make a big difference! .
Easy DIY dry shampoo & it works great! 💫
Light hair: - 1/4 cup corn starch - 1 tbsp baking soda .
Dark hair: - 1/4 cup corn starch - 1 tbsp baking soda - 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (Bonus:It makes your hair smell really good 😻)! If you have really dark hair, you can add more, but no more than 2 tbsp or else it will end in a sticky mess. .
Mix it in a small container and it's ready to go! To apply the dry shampoo, part your hair in the area you wish to put it on. Dip your fingertips or a makeup brush into the dry shampoo, and apply it onto your roots and the greasy parts, then bush it out. Leaves your hair looking flawless 💁🏽♀️
The @icecastles_ should be on everyone’s list for something to experience during the winter! I have yet to experience it, but I plan on it for sure! Thank you to @yoursashfully for capturing an epic moment exploring the Ice Castles!

Have you been to the Ice Castles?
Today is #mlkday and we celebrate freedom and for me that’s what the #laptoplifestyle is all about, and it’s something I think MANY more people should utilize. 29 years ago The Internet was invented, but it’s getting faster and more useful daily so NOW is the time to embrace the #studyhard and #workfromanywhere mentality as it’s a great mistake to overlook the opportunity of the moment which I would argue makes this the most exciting time to be alive in the entire history of the world! We must come to realize that #education stems from #experience so we MUST #exploremore to increase our education to the point where we respect #mothernature more all while we march ahead and learn new things from people and place we encounter throughout our journey! We cannot turn our backs on the #environment any longer just as we cannot turn back clock on #technology so we must learn to embrace both if we are to survive and thrive as a species...I have a dream that every person on our planet have the opportunity for education and thanks to technology that very well may happen in our lifetime, as long as we protect this planet from the far too many abuses we have silently allowed for too long...with this faith we will be able to work together, live together, and push even greater boundaries together! #ihaveadream#wifiwarrior#educationforall#edjewcation
If you swipe left, this photo will make a lot of sense. Our #4colors4causes logo has red, yellow, green, and blue on the lions nose. Each color stands for a cause that @adamreifer and I donate to with every service transaction we do. We ask our clients to pick a color which stands for a cause, and we donate in their behalf. This is at no cost to them but in honor of them. When we came up with this idea years ago, the ethos behind it was that we are all connected. The connection being our clients choosing us, us providing heartfelt service, and from that service manifesting a contribution to the world. #connection@leonihome ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Replace, renew, restore. This week we take a look into why DUX is the environmentally responsible choice. Simply put, long-lasting beds = less waste. Our top pad is replaceable — resulting in a bed that can be restored as it shows wear, and improved. 🌏
Wow this is jaw dropping!😦😍who would like to travel there?

Former U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn admitted on Friday that he asked Russia to delay a U.N. vote seen as damaging to Israel, but diplomats said it was not the only country he and presidential adviser Jared Kushner lobbied.
In the hours before the vote by the 15-member United Nations Security Council on Dec. 23, Flynn also phoned the U.N. missions of Uruguay and Malaysia, and Kushner spoke with Kim Darroch, the British ambassador to the United States, according to diplomats familiar with the conversations, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The lobbying took place before Republican President Donald Trump, who was known for his pro-Israel campaign rhetoric, took office on Jan. 20. It failed, with the Security Council adopting a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building on land Palestinians want for an independent state. The vote was 14 in favor and one abstention by the United States.
The efforts made on Israel's behalf capped several days of unusual diplomacy. In a surprise Dec. 21 move, Egypt had called for a vote the next day on the draft resolution, prompting both Trump and Israel to urge Washington to veto the text.
A senior Israeli official told Reuters that Israeli officials contacted Trump's transition team at a "high level" to ask for help after failing to persuade Democratic President Barack Obama's administration to veto the draft U.N. resolution.
According to court documents made public on Friday, a member of Trump's presidential transition team, later identified by sources as Trump's son-in-law Kushner, told Flynn on Dec. 22 to contact officials from foreign governments, including Russia, to convince them to delay the vote or veto the resolution.
Flynn spoke with then-Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergei Kislyak that day.

But Wylie wasn’t just talking about fashion. He had recently been exposed to a new discipline: “information operations”, which ranks alongside land, sea, air and space in the US military’s doctrine of the “five-dimensional battle space”. His brief ranged across the SCL Group – the British government has paid SCL to conduct counter-extremism operations in the Middle East, and the US Department of Defense has contracted it to work in Afghanistan.
I tell him that another former employee described the firm as “MI6 for hire”, and I’d never quite understood it.
- It’s like dirty MI6 because you’re not constrained. There’s no having to go to a judge to apply for permission. It’s normal for a ‘market research company’ to amass data on domestic populations. And if you’re working in some country and there’s an auxiliary benefit to a current client with aligned interests, well that’s just a bonus.
When I ask how Bannon even found SCL, Wylie tells me what sounds like a tall tale, though it’s one he can back up with an email about how Mark Block, a veteran Republican strategist, happened to sit next to a cyberwarfare expert for the US air force on a plane. - And the cyberwarfare guy is like, ‘Oh, you should meet SCL. They do cyberwarfare for elections.’
It was Bannon who took this idea to the Mercers: Robert Mercer – the co-CEO of the hedge fund Renaissance Technologies, who used his billions to pursue a rightwing agenda, donating to Republican causes and supporting Republican candidates – and his daughter Rebekah.
