This past year has really been a growing experience for me, I have been able to spend more time on the artist side, and less time on the work side.
This balance really makes for a good quality of life.
Do what makes your soul happy.

Are you willing to make sacrifices?
Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

So... I’m 100% aware that I’m the worst at this. And a lot of the time, people who text me probably feel like Otto. Like... ‘what the heck?’
I’ve started setting ‘business hours’ where I work without my phone near by. I shut my messenger off on the iPad and work from it. ‘Working from home’ somehow morphed into ‘home to help me with favors’ so I had to do it to stay productive. •
What’s something you do to stay on task throughout the day?
Don’t forget to head over to my blog and read my newest post! Also, Force of Nature is running an awesome deal if you need any last-minute gift ideas for the neat freak in your life! Order by December 21st for Christmas delivery!!! The link is in my bio! ❤️
Have I mentioned how much I love this new space? I'm surrounded by art, fantastic people and an overwhelmingly supportive community. This was the first thing I saw coming in the other day. A piece by a local artist, all hand hewn and truly eye catching! I love this! #entreprenuerlife#eagleriversocial
I remember a time in my business where I felt like if I wasn't working hard, I wasn't working. If things felt easy, I'd say "That was too simple!" and I'd wait for the other shoe to drop or I'd chalk it up to luck.
So my strategies kept getting more complicated and difficult to implement and that was a super-stressful mindset to have, leaving me completely stressed and exhausted.
And do you know what that did? It made it harder to get results (you know, results like clients and revenue), and that led me to working even HARDER to reach my goals.
Until one morning when I heard God tell me to do less not more. And even though that felt completely uncomfortable to me, I listened.
And do you know what happened? Clients and revenue started flowing in.
I don't mean that I stopped taking action. I simply embraced the idea that actions don't have to be complicated to be life changing.
For me, simple looked like focusing on service instead of success. That allowed me to focus on the actions that mattered most - listening and giving value.
What does simple look like for you? In the comments, share with me a way that you can keep it simple today!
One day, a so-called Jewish businessman had an honest conversation, in which the Jewish man asked, “Do you know what my Jewish friends call the black community?” My friend said, “No, what do they call us?” He replied, “We call you liquid money. The same way that water falls out of a man’s hands, money typically seeps out of a black person’s hands the same way. Your community gets money and immediately gives it all away to people who aren’t black. *We see that as a huge business opportunity.” He then used the example of many black people on payday or when we get our tax refunds. *He noted how we’ll go to an Indian business to cash the check, an Asian hair salon, a corner store owned by Arabs and a department store owned by whites. *He explained how, when it’s all said and done, these other business people are waiting like hungry animals to eat our bank accounts as if we are the prey.
Currently 43 million strong, African-American consumers have unique behaviors from the total market. For example, they’re more aggressive consumers of media and they shop more frequently. Blacks watch more television (37%), make more shopping trips (eight), purchase more ethnic beauty and grooming products (nine times more), read more financial magazines (28%) and spend more than twice the time at personal hosted websites than any other group. African-Americans make an average of 156 shopping trips per year, compared with 146 for the total market. Favoring smaller retail outlets, blacks shop more frequently at drug stores, convenience stores, and dollar stores.
