Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope your week is starting off well. It's coooold here in Colorado, so I'm hunkering down and counting the days until it's summer again 😆☀️ (where my summer-lovers at?! 🙋♀️)
Do these days make you just want to run into the pantry and down all the warm 'feel good' foods? Hot chocolate? Mac and cheese? Bread...all the bread? 🍞
Do you ever end up in a binge or overeating pattern where you can't seem to break out of it? I've been there and it's a tough one. Your #tuesdaytip is how to get out of that situation when you catch yourself, halfway into the box of Oreos with no end in sight.... 1. Change your surroundings. Get outside and go for a walk...or if it's freezing and you hate the cold (🙋♀️), go for a drive, or go to a big dept store where you can walk around. Take a shower. Take a bath. Read a book. Call a friend you haven't talked to in a while. Sit down and do some work. Do whatever you need to do to change your scenery and get way from the cookies and out of the kitchen.
2. Assess why you're in that situation in the first place. Are you sad? Are you bored? Are you actually hungry and need something more substantial to eat? Feel those feelings and figure out ways how to cope with them that don't include food. Journal. Take a bath. Talk with a friend. Pray. Whatever it is that helps you feel those feelings and go through them without relying on food to numb them. This can be a tough road to walk so seek help if you need it.
3. Portion out the food. If you're starting to dive headfirst into that bag of chips and you realize you could easily eat the whole bag, but still want those chips, put them into a bowl and sit down and eat them. Standing in the pantry, eating those chips will just contribute to overeating because you're not really focused on what you're doing and it'll be suuuper easy to eat the whole bag without realizing it.
Hope these tips help the next time you're in an overeating situation! Have a great Tuesday!

I've told you I'll be making polenta dishes more often in the future since my first time making it with shrimps 🍄 today it's replaced with mushroom for a meat free meal 🌱
You are what you eat.
The truth is, what you put inside shows on the outside so it is important that you really focus on choosing the right foods. If you want to look healthy, you have to eat healthily.
If you eat convenient, processed, high fat, sugary foods and drinks then you're at risk of gaining body fat, having dull hair, blotchy skin, brittle nails, dark eyes and may eventually experience health problems as a result.
If you eat natural food provided by the earth at least 80% of the time and in the right quantities, then the opposite to all of this will be experienced.
It's not always that easy though is it?
When something changes in your routine, you experience more stress, you've had a rough day, you don't deserve, you're bored, you do deserve... all these things make us all turn to something to cope and more often than not it's food and drink, and we're not talking celery sticks and nettle tea!
If you are self sabotaging with your food, the trick is to acknowledge the reasons why first and foremost because there is ALWAYS a reason.
Ask yourself the questions which will help you understand your actions and prevent you from consistently making the same poor choices over and over again.
If you eat well, you live well.

“I thought you had abs!” I do.
We all do.
And their strength shows in some positions and not in others.
And I have no issues showing you what I mean. (Click that second pic for another view.)
I have a VERY strong core (abs, back). I am also a proud double c-section mama who will never have a VISIBLY PERFECT 6-pack. Nor need it.
You know what I do need?
For my kids to continue expressing that they like having a strong, active Mom who doesn’t seems like she’s rounding 50.
Guys. Gals. I just wanna exercise to build strength, improve stability, endurance and flexibility and tap the perks of creative, mental and emotional clarity/energy that come with it.
Can I help you do the same?
Let's find a fitness option that you would consider FUN!
BEFORE: 😭 I was discouraged by my lack of progress in the gym and I wasn’t losing weight. ☹️ I was resigned to the fact that it was “just my age” b/c that’s what my doctor, friends, family and even fitness coaches told me. 😠I was sad and frustrated that I could not enjoy food anymore with my family & friends b/c of my restricted diet and became addicted to sugar. 😴 I became too lethargic & bummed out to “fix it”. NOW‼️ 💪🏻 I’m stronger than I’ve ever been before. 🏃🏻♀️ I’ve changed the “middle age” stigma (weight gain, no energy, unbalanced hormones, slow metabolism). 🍽 My nutrition plan gives me the energy to “fix it” and I no longer have those sugar cravings. 💡 YOU do have the power to change your story ‼️ I’d love to show you how 🖤
Purchase of the day... how beautiful are these onions everyone? I got them during this morning’s grocery run at Praça de Estrela or “star square” open produce market. I think it’s amazing that I can go to Praça de Estrela and purchase great quality organic produce whenever I like. Imagine being able to visit a Farmer’s market everyday if you could? Besides produce there are merchants from Cape Verde and different countries of Africa who also sell their goods at Praça de Estrela. One of these days I will have to snap some pictures for you guys! ❤️💛💚🌊🌊🌴☀️✨
It’s that time of the year again when curries become veeeery appealing! And this coming from someone, who couldn’t care less about curries until a few years ago.
Warming, satisfying and indulging. Like a hug in a bowl, basically.
This cauliflower & potato curry has become a staple dish for me in the colder months. Super delish & loaded with veggies and warming spices. Dare I say, super duper healthy too. But you wouldn’t know this!😋
Check it out, it’s finger licking good, though you should be using utensils really!😍👇👇👇

Det blev en liten räksoppa som förrätt tillslut. På hemgjord fond. Med krispigt bacon. Sen gammalt 🍵🦐
