Those following my main page may remember Amadeus - one of the puppies in the litter we pulled before they were sold to a dog fighter (who is now facing chargers for animal cruelty, child abuse, sexual assault, and possession of narcotics). I so clearly remember the day I spent 2+ hours on NYC transit rushing him to safety... I planned on keeping him myself but just couldn’t manage the time for a puppy and it was so hard giving him up.
Look at him now! Recently met up with his incredible mom @fmb293 only to discover that Ronan is now a year old and 60+ lbs of trouble😂🥰 #GoRescueNation
✴✴ ARRIVING Monday ✴✴ Meet Xena!
1.5 years old
Xena unfortunately is not considered adoptable in Winnipeg due to the fact she resembles a pit bull and BSL is still in effect out there :( She was sprayed with pink dye so that is why her chest is pink.
We will be looking for a foster home for her once she arrives and is assessed. We are told she is super sweet and loves people❤
We will post a full bio on her once we know more about her.
To apply for this darling beauty please go to www.smilesandcriesrescue.com
Be sure to check out @pixar ‘s new short film called “kitbull” ...it spreads light on how pit bull type dogs are inherently good and it’s not their fault they are forced to defend themselves in bad situations...dogfighting is a true epidemic of cruelty that is PEOPLE caused, not dogs. #endbsl#pixar#enddogfighting#pitbull#crueltyfree#kindness
5 months today that I’ve been living with my new family! My fur sister is really smart and I adore playing with her. Although she’s a bit of a mental case when it comes to squeaky toys. My mom is the best cuddled and even though she blames her farts on me, I still love her. We’re a bit of a wonky family but we love each other.” -Maggie
Five months in and Maggie hasn’t swapped us for a better family yet, so I think it’s safe to say she loves us. Although I think she’d leave me to live at the pet store in a heartbeat.
For those of you who are new to our account here is a little recap of how Maggie came to be a bit wonky.
Maggie was found chained to a box on the road. She was pregnant, missing an ear and her eyes. It was later discovered that her ear was cut off and she had been shot a total of 17 times. 4 bullets were removed from her eyes and the rest are still in her but don’t cause her any pain. To top it off the vet thinks at some point she was hit by a car or kicked as her jaw was broken and healed on its own, resulting in her wonky nose. She came to me as a foster and we fell in love instantly and happily adopted her. She is now completely blind but it doesn’t affect her to much and most amazingly, she has forgiven people. She loves everyone she meets! Thank you for sharing 👉🏻 @smartypaws_
