#travel_scoop She was the first of the Great Royal Wives of Ramesses the Great “Ramesses II”, her name means the 'beautiful companion' .Her Royal Highness Queen Nefertari. One of the best known Egyptian queens, her lavishly decorated tomb is not less stature than her, as it is one of the largest and most spectacular tombs in the Valley of the Queens.
The tomb of Queen Nefertari was laid in the Valley of the Queens, Luxor.
The astronomical ceiling of the tomb painted as a dark blue, with a myriad of golden stars representing the heaven. The east wall of the antechamber flanked by the representation of Osiris at left and Anubis at right.
The tomb itself is primarily focused on the Queen’s life and on her death. The walls and the pillars are entirely covered with decorations. Paintings of the Queen playing Draughts, a whole entire wall show the Queen at playing Senet. A painting in the tomb for Nefertari coming before the god of writing and literacy to proclaim her title as a scribe.
Also a poetry written by Ramesses about his favorite beloved dead wife is featured on some of the walls of her burial chamber. ("My love is unique — no one can rival her, for she is the most beautiful woman alive. Just by passing, she has stolen away my heart.")
The real value of the paintings found within the tomb is that they are the best preserved and most detailed source of the ancient Egyptian’s journey towards the afterlife. #egyptscoop #egypt#luxor#queennefertiti#ancientegypt#travel#explore#travellife#culture#instatravel#temple#tomb#oldegypt#history#tourist#tourism

Well I don’t know how to say this. I remember a year ago. I would say I will never miss Egypt, but damn I miss everything about it. The annoying noises. The crowds. The traffic. The random fights. The pollution. The non-stop dog bark. The tuktuk. I guess it has a beauty in some way. Miss you Cairo 🇪🇬

#photographerscoop Cairo is often referred to as the city of minarets. There are so many mosques in Cairo , some of the mosques in Cairo do stand out, albeit for a different reasons. A prime example would be the mosque of Al Azhar .
The mosque of Al Azhar was originally built in 970 AD by order of Al-Mu'izz Li-Din Allah Al Fatimi which makes it one of the oldest mosques of all the mosques in Cairo , the mosque main purpose was to spread shi'ite beliefs to the Arabian community . Although it may not be the most architecturally interesting mosque in the city , it's certainly the most important mosque in the city , since 988 AD it has also been the center of the most prestigious University in the Islamic world and it is considered the second oldest permanent University in the world architecturally . The mosque is palimpsest of all style and influences that have passed through Egypt. The mosque has six entrances five fine minarets with small balconies and intricately carved columns . The photo by @krimamr showing the minarets And the dome of Al Azhar . #travel_scoop #egyptscoop #egypt#cairo#mosque#islamicart#explore#pray#tour#architecture#travel#tourism#tourist#photography#photographer#oldplace#oldmosque#instaphoto#instamosque#instaphotography
#travel_scoop One of the most ancient places showing the magnificent of the Islamic architecture is The Mosque of Ibn Tulun.
The mosque was commissioned by the governor of Egypt Ahmad ibn Tulun at 876 AD and the mosque's original inscription slab identifies the date of completion as (878/879).
The mosque is considered the largest mosques in Egypt With an area of six and a half acres “26,318 Sq M”, constructed in the Samarran style. Its architectural layout adheres to the traditional plan for the mosques in the region. You will find an open courtyard “Al sahn” surrounded by four covered hall “riwaqs ". In the middle of the sahn there was a fountain described as it had windows on all sides, and over it was a gilt dome on ten marble columns, and round it were sixteen marble columns with a marble pavement.
The mosque has a unique architecture minaret has helical outer staircase similar to that of the famous minaret in Samarra mosque in Iraq.
There are 19 doors on 3 sides, and there are another 3 doors cut into the Qibla's wall. Some of these doors still retain their archaeological original carvings.
Ibn Tulun is the oldest mosque in Egypt that has survived in a fairly original form with the most of the carvings and decorations, reflecting all the characteristic features of Abbasid art within the realm of architecture. ...credits to @faten09 #egyptscoop #egypt#cairo#mosque#architecture#islamicart#oldplace#history#photographer#photographerscoop#instaphoto#travel#travelphotography#explore#tourism#tourist#instatravel
