Today I decided to try out my CBD drops that I received from @lostleafnaturals . I woke up with some minor body sores due to a cold, and with all the moving and cleaning, and building, this Mama needed some instant relief! Sure enough, I felt some relief right after taking them. 😁 The flavor was amazing! Very peppermintish, and tasty. I have tasted and bought other different brand CBD tinctures, both unflavored and flavored, BUUUT, I did not like them due to the taste. 😩 The unflavored ones tasted really strongly like ashtrays, and the flavor one's are usually coconut, but to me, they taste like coconuts rolled around in ashtrays. 😫 This CBD however, has a strong peppemint taste, that you can't taste nothing else! It leaves your mouth minty and it goes down sooo smoothly! The peppermint flavor gives your throat a cool and pleasant feeling. They have become my new favorite drops! I will be using these drops on an everyday basis, they are exactly what I have been looking for in a tincture! ......
4 of 24: The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas. An enlightening tale written by a young and inspiring author. Can’t wait to discuss at book club. Her book has fueled a bunch of Tupac searches and further educating myself. Definitely one you should add to the reading list. #thehateyougive#tupac#read#educateyourself
For those of you who have ever said to me or anyone else “you don’t ‘act’ black” or have referred to something or someone as “ghetto”; feel free to check yourself. •Blackness is not an act— it is a state of being. And ghetto is a location. An area that anyone can live in or come from, which could be a person from any background or ethnicity. #blackhistorymonth#educateyourself
Day 19: Did you know that of the 12.5 million Africans shipped to the New World during the Transatlantic Slave Trade, fewer than 388,000 arrived in the United States. That's because the slave trade reached all parts of the New World, including the Caribbean and South America Dr. Henry Louis Gates is an expert on Black history and says, "Think of this as an instance of what we might think of as African-American exceptionalism-- In other words, if it’s in 'the black Experience,' it’s got to be about black Americans.) Well, think again." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because different countries were part of the slave trade, slavery looked differently everywhere, even within the US. In the Louisiana area where the French ruled and people in bondage outnumbered them, there, they were more likely to take part in their cultural traditions, meaning there was less of a loss of identity as in other parts of America. They were more likely to continue their forms of worship, including voodoo. Yet in Brazil, where the majority of slaves (4.9 million) went, they ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
suffered incredibly high mortality rates due to terrible working conditions. Brazil was also the last country to ban slavery in 1888 and struggles with issues of racism to this day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But perhaps the best example of the this history existing outside of America is the story of Haiti's revolution, where slaves there fought against the French and claimed the island for themselves to become the first Black independent country in the new world. Talk about exceptional! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Me: let’s try to make a vegan protein bar. ...searches for recipe... follows it to a tee- then decides to go rogue and add a couple of additional ingredients. The picture does not do them justice- they taste great though! #veganlife#healthylifestyle#educated#vegan#educateyourself#vegansnacks#veganshare#veganlifestyle#veganlife#tryit#veganuary#veganuary2019 2 cups oats mixed with 4 scoops Vega protein powder. On low heat I mixed 1 cup peanut butter, 1/2 molasses and 1/2 cup agave nectar. I added that to my dry mix, added 1/2 cup coconut flakes, 1/2 cup chopped almonds and 1 cup chopped walnuts. Mixed together and added almond milk to increase the moisture. I then pressed into a mold. While they do fall apart easily- they taste great and were under 10 minutes to make.
yesterday I had two friends ask me about safety concerns and I wanted to share with y’all some super important tidbits of information. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☝🏼always do YOUR research. — using these products are a personal choice for me, not a professional one. although I work in the healthcare field, it does not make me an expert in what is best for you and your family. I personally have enjoyed using oils so much, I wanted to include them on this page. it is so, so important to do research before deciding to put something on or in your body.
✌🏼always consult a reference before applying, ingesting, or diffusing an oil. each oil is unique in its appropriate usage whether it can be diffused, taken orally, applied to skin (with or without dilution), and whether it is safe to go in the sun after application. young living provides safety instructions for all oils and it’s very easy to reference. every body reacts to oils differently, so it is important to do a safety test on a small area of skin first. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚠️ know what is in your products. yesterday I felt a cold coming on, so I went to the store to get some zinc... you would not believe the fillers and dyes listed as ingredients in almost every single vitamin. same thing with oils— those $3 bin oils are a lot cheaper, but the main ingredient usually isn’t even the pure oil itself! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌿I will be sharing more safety tips and resources throughout this page because, I am passionate about educating individuals on making educated choices.
As an extremely analytical person (Libra rising issues) using my gut as a tool in decision making has saved me endless scrutiny. The skeptic in me has always found this to be a cop out in realistically dealing with making decisions. As it turns out there are many scientific articles out there that back up trusting your gut. I read a bunch and learned that the stomach amazingly has its own nervous system (enteric nervous system). Having a gut feeling is actually the brain communicating with your stomach. The brain wants to predict the outcome of a desicion based on stored knowledge gained from previous experience. The gut feeling is the brain communicating second guessing a decision based off experience referred to as “Intuitive thinking.” Reasonably, its important to use both “Analytical thinking” and “Intuitive thinking” when making big decisions. Still how awesome is it that trusting your gut is scientifically backed up!!? Your stomach is your second brain!!!
I remember feeling like something was wrong with me.
Feeling like I was doing something wrong by reading and studying about the church.
Feeling guilty for thinking outside of my mormon box.
Feeling like I was the crazy one.
Do you ever feel this way?
I want you to know that BECAUSE you are doing these things, you are one of the bravest people I know.
You are doing it right.
▪️I spent quite some time today working on node.js. It took me a while to understand node's core features which are: non-blocking I/O, Event Emitters and having Buffer/Stream Approach. The coolest one is the non-blocking I/O which pretty much says that node can handle being asynchronous. This means that you dont need to wait for a task to be compleated before moving on to the next one. Which is great! Also, Streams and buffers allow performance to be enhanced by transfering chunks of data to the client and being able to work with it, even though the whole file hasnt been compleatly received. Just like a YouTube video! And well event emitters pretty much emit events which allows listener objects to be called when that event goes off!
▪️I've moved on to also working with express since I am building a web app. I am still trying to figure out express but It is going well. I'll talk more about it in tomorrows post 🙏🏼👌🏼
