I always really liked yogurt growing up & I am so happy to have found a recipe for homemade #plantbased yogurt. Its so easy to make!
1.5 C cashews, soaked 1-4 hrs & then drained/rinsed
1 1/4 C water
2 Tbsp maple syrup or honey or whatever liquid sweetener you dig
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
Contents of 2 probiotic capsules
Blend ingredients in your blender. Pour into a bowl or jar, cover with clean tea towel or paper towel and leave to ferment for about 24 hours. The longer you let it sit the more tangy it will be.
It’s delicious with granola, berries, a drizzle of maple syrup, it’s good in smoothies, the options are endless. This recipe makes a small batch so if you’re making for your family I suggest doubling it! Hope everyone is having a beautiful Friday ❤️
Happy Friday! Woke up feeling a little under the weather so I'm thankful I have the weekend to recover 😷 posted a new recipe on the blog yesterday for this toasted coconut tahini granola. I make this ALL the time, so I figured it was past due to go up on the site. It's super tasty, crunchy, low-FODMAP, and really low in sugar and oil! Link in bio ☀️

Introducing one of my winter loves - a kale, beet, candied walnut, cara cara orange, and avocado salad with a Dijon mustard and cider vinegar dressing. It comes together easily, and also happens to pair really well with a bag of kettle chips, in case you're planning to spend a cozy Friday night at home.😚🤓
Gorgeous warm salad bowl with rocket, white cabbage, quinoa, beetroot, caramelised butternut squash, marinated tofu baked with sunflower seeds a sprinkle of spiced pumpkin seeds and hummus 😋🌱💚

Plastic free fridge-
Can you believe I filled an entire trash bag taking the plastic off of just the foods pictured? And why was it even plastic covered to begin with, all of these foods have "natural packaging" (their skin) and are perfectly able to touch my refrigerator without becoming contaminated...
Finally coming to the realization that being eco friendly is such an important part of a vegan lifestyle. [I'm telling you guys- There's so much to learn still. I'm learning every. single. day.] This is about a third of our regular grocery haul, and if it produces that much plastic, how much are we wasting in a month? A year? 😨
How selfish are we as a species to cause such destruction to the home we share with so many other life forms... humans and animals alike have to lose lives and hope of a future because we find it inconvenient to bring our own cup.
Why would I not eat fish to save them & our ocean, but contribute to killing them with my toxic waste? Why would you not produce toxic waste to save them and our ocean, but contribute to the suffering of both by eating fish? They go hand in hand. This is how I'm starting to see eco friendly solutions as vegan solutions. This is something I can control, something WE can control. I don't want to be lazy anymore. I want to do my part.
The oceans are dying so rapidly, and with documentaries such as Plastic Ocean on Netflix and an abundance of IG influencers + YT videos, most of us know now that we can't live without them, so how can we find it within ourselves to ignore such issues?
It takes 500-1,000 years for plastic to degrade. Every piece we've ever created IS STILL HERE. Holy smokes....
Come on this journey with me to find zero waste solutions. We can take baby steps, and we can learn together 🌎🌊💚
Hello happy Friday friends🤩 I’m just sitting in my makeup chair, getting my hair prepped for this RedKen show that I’m in Vegas for & I wanted to share this awesome vegan sushi I had here yesterday🤩
Whenever I have sushi, I just get a kind of boring (but always delicious) avocado and cucumber sushi, but this restaurant that we went to yesterday is ALL vegan and they have the coolest most creative flavors😍 This one was a jackfruit roll and had coconut, jackfruit, and kiwi. It was sweet with a little bit of a kick and just so good🤤
I can’t wait to keep exploring this amazing city😍 I hope you guys are having a wonderful Friday!❤️

Blueberry Nicecream via @erinireland
Frozen bananas, frozen blueberries (about 1/2 cup), splash vanilla, splash almond milk. Sneak some hemp hearts or ground flax for hidden nutrients! Comes out beautifully in a high powered blender but I think it would be easier (less labor) to use a food processor.
