Wowee what a treat tonight @bemhajaburgau. Fab new restaurant in Burgau serving small plates of authentic Portuguese food. Tender lamb stew, delicious black pork, green peas and poached egg (😋😋), and sautéed vegetables. Yummy homemade desserts - spoilt for choice. The chocolate and sweet potato mousse was a triumph! Great wines from a small but very well chosen wine list. Can’t wait to return!
I am constantly on the run. Half the time I’m actually chasing these three little guys around the room and the other half the time I’m running to drop them off to school or pick them up, take them to their activities or play dates and I feel like I have so little time to eat! A L M O N D • M I L K • is really that simple to make. I love that you can choose what goes into it. No hidden sugars, guar gum, additives, preservatives.
Almonds are a great form of vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant in the body, it helps protect our cell membranes and can improve our immunity. Nuts also contain a dose of magnesium which really helps our body relax, it aids repair of our muscles and can also help us sleep well. A good dose of potassium for fluid and electrolyte balance. Containing calcium for your bones, teeth formation, heart beat and muscle function. Almonds also have a good dose of protein it has 21g of protein per 100g. That’s pretty high for this little chap. Protein is the essential building blocks for the human body, with out it we have big problems. By eating almonds will your body replenish, nourish and heal your skin, tissues and muscles. For me, it is rushing through the day sometimes without eating enough so I end up eating whatever is in sight at night. But once you learn what is going on then you can have an easier time working on creating better habits in place of the old ones. 😅

Yes there's chicken🐔on this salad, yes there is 🥑 and yes it's loaded with 4 different vegetables besides the mixed greens. 🥗Eat your veggies!!! You can still use your favorite dressing and add some of your favorite add ons ie: nuts, dried fruits, fruit ans croutons...just make sure your salad is filled with veggies. I grilled chicken on Sunday and have been using it all week. Makes for an easy meal! So good and it will fill you up! #2Bmindful#eatinghealthy#eatyourveggies#saladsareamazing

🔅1/3 cup @earthlychoice super grain blend
🔅1 can of kidney beans
🔅1/2 pomegranate (seeded)
🔅1 kale leaf (finely chopped)
🔅1 tbs of apple cider vinegar
🔅1 tbs of honey
🔅1 tsp of olive oil
🔅1/4 tsp of paprika
🔅1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper
Whenever I get asked for nutrition advice, the first thing I always recommend is to eat a bigger breakfast. It's definitely the one wellness change I made that has had the biggest positive impact on my mood, weight, and productivity. You can find me expressing my love for breakfast to anyone that will listen and often get asked what I have in the mornings that keeps me fuelled and allows me to get my day going without spending an hour in the kitchen.
My answer is always: THIS!
There is nothing simpler, easier, or more delicious to me than a bowl of overnight oats topped fruit, nut butter and some crunch! It doesn't need to be fancy like mine (🤣) Despite how important I think it is to sit and eat a meal mindfully, I totally understand that we don't all have that luxury. This is a great make ahead on-the-go meal for people that don't sit down to eat before leaving the house. Just mix all of the ingredients together in a jar, top it with your favourite things, and grab it on your way out the door. Poof, you’ll never look back 💯

This weekend I did something terrifying.
I went away for an entire weekend withOUT my laptop. Traveling to Florida this past weekend for the @ancientnutrition wellness retreat I knew I would be stressed with midterms, work, and school. But - I felt this deep urge to DISCONNECT with technology💻 and CONNECT with humans.
I wanted to be able to come on and write to you all about how amazing it was, and how glad I am I did it. But the reality is - it was HARD. This was a huge eye opener for me at how hard it is for me to not constantly be doing work and just enjoy being - P R E S E N T -
So, what am I to do? A part of me just thought, "that's just not who I am - I love being productive"
But when looking a little deeper I realized - I actually dont know how to "just BE"

success✔, grit✔, and hard work ethic✔.
Our society ALSO has a billion💰 dollar industry on anti-anxiety and depression prescriptions.

Yes, success, grit, and hard work ethic are great. But at what cost?
So what I realized, just like any other skill I learn, I have to PRACTICE.
Practice listening to what my body needs.
Practice being present🙇♀️. •
And unfortunately this isnt something we are being taught. Its something we need to teach ourselves. And this will probably look different for everyone.
Because honestly what is life if we only are living through our screens, to-do lists, and deadlines.
We were designed for
And for Connection💗
And I think THOSE are worth working for.
